I would wager that a lot of guys who wear expensive jeans do it b/c their significant others coaxed them into it. I used to think a pair of J.Crew jeans was a big purchase (about $80 at the time). I now have a pair of Rock n Republics and a pair of Sevens, therefore relegating my jcrew jeans to be known as the "cr@ppy" ones. I must admit the more expensive pairs do fit nicer than any other jeans I have owned (coming from a guy). Instead of owning 6-7 pairs of cheaper jeans, I pretty much wear one of the three pairs of nicer jeans. Slims down the closet space to make room for my fiance, who believes both in quality AND quantity  I call her the denim snob! :)

Yep my wife changed my wardrobe, and for the better. I still have to pay though :(

That's me. I used to wear $10 Wrangler jeans before I met my wife. She converted me to wearing Gap jeans then. Now I wear Express. My clothes are actually more expensive than my wife's. She finds all her stuff at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, so she gets it for cheap. She can never find good stuff for me there.

I used to wear a lot of Rocawear jeans, those things last along time same with old Eckos, thne i moved on to guess which are the same price but last only one tenth of the RW and now I have a couple of american Eagles that look good but are of a very crappy quality. Rock and republic are really nice tho.

I wish I lived close to a store.

Close to any store, or those two stores?

The closest affordable store is only 2 miles away, Mervyns and Pac Sun. But no TJ Maxx in my county. The only time I did see a TJ Maxx, I was very impressed with their selection and price of well known brands.

Any store! The nearest Walmart is 18 miles away, over the mountain. I shop online. It's very close. But I hate buying clothes that way. I'm not sure, but I think there may be a TJ Maxx 1 hour south of me.

You are more rural than me (too far south of San Jose, CA to be considered important). Much of California is pretty empty between around Silicon Valley (San Jose, Cupertino) all the way to around Santa Barbara, totaling a distance of about 300 miles (but Fresno is the only big city in that vast emptiness). Most of the action is either in the Bay Area and Southern California. But Walmart is 30 miles away for me, and no TJ Maxx within 70 miles that I know of, and Mervyn's is closing. I do have a Ross and a Target 6 miles away, but none of those touch TJ Maxx. When you are in a big city, you have all those stores, many independents, and competition which keeps prices low.

What is the closest big city of half a million people or more near you?

It's totally worth a visit to a TJ Maxx.

R&Rs and "Sevens" are overpriced, of poor quality, and used excessively by douchebags...that is just what I've heard. :D

I have all sorts and dont really have a particular preference but the ones i wear most are this pair of armani xchange, banana republic, calvin klein, and a pair from J crew

I wear three pairs of jeans.

1) Levis 555 Boot Cut

2) A&F Boot Cut

3) Diesel of some sort I found on sale at Nordstrom Rack

That's all I really need, I need to get rid of some pairs actually.

Levi's 569s.

I bought a couple pair a few years back and they're doing well, however most of my other jeans (all around 10+ years old) are starting to wear down so I'll need to get more soon or risk embarrassing exposure to the neighbors while doing outside work.

Luckily I have a Levi's outlet store not far from my house.

I don't have any particular preference, just whatever I can find in the size and style I want. I have found Ralph Lauren jeans to be insanely cheap, every pair I've ever owned have ripped.

Levis or Gap, mostly; no particular styles, just whatever looks good on me.

Levi 511's
Gap
BullHead (from Pacsun....they were cheap)

The Levi's are my favourite, extreme quality.

Although i really wish i could buy a pair of Diesel, or Lucky Brand jeans....
