Coming from 2011 27in iMac (upgraded 24 GB RAM, 2 TB internal HD). Honestly, my current iMac is still going strong, but I can't run the current Mac OS, can't run the current version of Logic, and other software is deprecating. So I guess it's time. I feel like my current iMac still has some life though, so thinking about how to keep it useful or selling it.

I replaced a 16" i9 MacBook Pro with an LG Ultrafine 27" (which took a complete dump). The cumbersome external device connection got to be too much of a pain in the arse and I felt like I was constantly hitting a wall with processor power (and the fan noise was excruciating).

Amazing!

I had a 2013 27" iMac with 32GB RAM 1TB Fusion drive, and it was not useful for much more than Mail and Safari with maybe 40% of the tabs I now have open. But thankfully that at the end.
Almost got ~$100 when trading it in to Apple. Long and good servant though 😉

For sure the Studio is lightyears ahead of that old thing.

Mac Pro 12 x 3.46GHz 48GB Ram, Sapphire 580 RX 8GB, 256GB NVMe drive, all SSDs. Used mainly for audio/music/recording, as well as FCPX and Capture One.

Wondering if the base model with 32GB will be enough... really want the Ultra, but £4k is just a bit much for me, I think. I won't be buying from the Apple store so leave it a week (or 4) to see it in stores/on Amazon.
Sold this on eBay today, will be delivering it to the new owner in the coming couple of days.

The end of an era!

Next to go - at least one of the 30" ACDs...

I have the same 2013 iMac. Replaced the stupid Fusion drive years ago with dual SDD drives and it still works like a champ in Lightroom. Anything that requires AI it is dreadfully slow (DXO Pure Raw takes 4 minutes for a photo that M1Pros are dealing with in 15 seconds) and I will be replacing this in the next 6 months. Will be quite the upgrade
