I use the Targus Zierra case. It is a tri-fold folder and stand that holds the iPad, business cards, a pen or stylus and a wide slot for that antique thing called paper. It also comes with a microfiber pad to clean the screen with. I wanted something that I could use at work, on the go, but be able to carry around smaller things with it. It works well for me and comes highly recommended. It folds up into about the same thickness as a daily planner, for reference.

I put my iPad 2 in a neoprene slip case and then it goes in my SCOTTeVEST jacket inside pocket. Fits like a dream and you can't tell it's there from the outside.

I have to carry around pads And lots of meeting minutes for work, so I carry it in the Hard Graft 2unfold bag. I first got the bag for carrying my macbook air around, and I have to say it fits both nicely. Although that said, I get teased a lot for carrying around a European man pures as I work in construction. But it doesn't bother me at all, because I love the bag so much! Not to mention every day it gets a little more worn, and a little more "my bag".

Hard Graft is awesome. I used my first generation Tilt iPad case to build my own smart cover with all the same magnets/features of Apple's Smart Cover.

I also use their 3FOLD bag as a messenger/duffel and a Qwstion Backpack when I need a backpack.

I go low tech and low cost.

When out and about or just tossed in my messenger bag, my iPad sits in a re-used FedEx bubble envelope. Gives it enough protection and it camouflages it, most people think I'm just carrying an eve lope of papers.

STM Skinny all the way. I also have a "commute" bag that it, a USB hard drive and my lunch travel in.

Targus 360 case...Then I throw it into a Timbuk2 XS (if I am just going out for the day), or my larger Timbuk2 if I am travelling.

Then again, sometimes it just gets thrown in my gym bag (of course, protected in the Targus case, along with a great velveteen soft pouch drawstring bag I purchased off of Ebay. I bought something like 20 of these bags. They are great for the iPad, as well as any cords, adapters, etc.)

Ordered a black velvet case from Hong Kong for $4. Good suggestion; just gonna keep the ipad with smart cover in it.

I searched high and low for a bag that was small, but still had some storage options. I also like things to be as minimal as possible - the more zippers, buckles, and straps you have hanging off a bag, the easier it is for something to break or get caught.

For a while I was looking at the Incase bags that were made for Macbook Airs. I was really close to buying one, but the price seemed a little high. Then I found an STM bag made for Air 11" that had everything I wanted and more:

It was about $30 less than a similar Incase bag. It has a neat little pocket for my cell phone and just enough storage in the front (with a single zipper, where the Incase model had velcro) to fit some cables, keys, etc.

My favorite thing about the bag is the interior where the unit goes. It is extremely soft and they built in this little flap so that the device doesn't brush up against the zipper - great design. The iPad feels very secure - no sliding around or anything of that nature. Overall I couldn't be happier. Well worth a look for anyone looking for something simple to carry their iPad/Air without breaking the bank. It just goes to show how overpriced other bags are.

I was looking at getting the 3FOLD gab when I bought the 2unfold. They weren't in stock at that time though, and I sometimes wish my bas was just a little bigger. I also had bought the new tilt ipad2 case, but ended up selling it, as I didn't like how much bigger it made my ipad. So now I have a ICarbons skin on it instead.

BTW thanks for the link on that backpack. It will be going on my to-buy list for sure! It looks perfect.

I had an incase neoprene sleeve, but returned it for the more professional looking Sena Executive Sleeve. It works great with the ipad smartcover and it has enough room under the flap to stick a stylus. Its leather and has held up very well over the past 6 weeks.

I really want to get a Sena ultraslim case to match the one on my iphone, but I can't justify it after spending $80 on the smart cover.

Sena cases are absolutely the best though.

I just carry it in hand with the smartcover. If I bring my Tumi, then it goes inside, just like that, no special treatment.

I have my in a Belkin Grip Vue case, and throw it in a Speck PIXEL Sleeve. Compact, light, and easy to throw in my bag when I need my bag with me. Got it for $10 from AT&T store during their %50 off case sale.

Leather; ages/distresses very well, looking better the more it's scratched & beat-up. Get lots of complements. 100 year warranty. $55.

Can anybody recommend a cheap maybe eBay pouch that's decent?

I just got my iPad and am short on funds right now so looking for something to hold me down for the time being

I have a small manbag if I'm carrying more than the iPad, but if it's just the iPad, then nothing at all: the smartcover does the job beautifully.

What do I carry it around in? I don't. It just isn't portable to go with me. Yes, I may move it from the living room to the kitchen to the bathroom to the garage to (etc.), but that's not really putting it in anything other than those rooms it ends up in. Same is true for any device I have that doesn't fit in a pocket. I'm thinking the 5" Samsung PMP will be the largest practical portable device I see.

The best idea I've read here though is to slip it into a padded yellow mailing/shipping envelope. Heck, I'm always carrying one of those around!

I pack my ipad 2, attached smart cover and Switcheasy CoverBuddy into a Targus Hughes leather case when traveling. Then it goes in a backpack or suitcase, depending on the trip.

Mine stays in a really great Evouni case/sleeve thing I picked up (it's made out of denim and microfiber...got it at Newegg). There's enough room for the iPad 2 to fit with the smart cover on it.
But yeah, I love that Evouni case...

glad you liked the QWSTION bag :)

the 3FOLD is slightly ridiculous when the biggest thing you've got in it is an iPad. sometimes i wish it was just a little smaller ;)

i had no problems with the TILT case's size with the original ipad, but wanted smart cover functionality with the new one. this is what I came up with and it snaps closed magnetically, as well as activating the lock sensor:
