Aside from those that don't plan to upgrade solely because their existing phone is working fine or they don't want to pay the costs, I've heard a lot of others, including people close to me state that the upgrade just isn't enough for them to justify paying for a new phone.

Coming from a 7+ myself, I see a lot of upgrades, but I guess I'm wondering what's missing.

What are the features that people are looking for that they don't feel Apple has supplied yet? Are there a lot more advancements in phones now that I'm not aware of that Apple has chosen not to add? Just curious as to what's out there that others are still waiting on??

Not sure what it’s missing, but it’s not enough to get me to dump my current iPhone X.

I contemplated on a Max, but can easily wait another year.

When I bought my X last year I knew obviously a better one would be right around the corner.

But the X is already so good I figured there was no way they could make it noticeably better just after a year lol

New iPhones in general are missing new use cases that make them must upgrades for day to day use. For example, the ability to pay with a phone was revolutionary. The increase in screen size that lets us view and edit PDFs clearly is great. No iPhone since perhaps the 7 generation has really innovated on a fundamental level

The obvious thing its missing is the ability to be used with one hand. But that’s missing from all of Apple’s phones now.

What do I feel the XS/ XS Max is missing?

5G, USB-C, smaller notch......are the things I thought would be on the XS and XS Max.

I’ve thought long and hard for the last 2 days and have kept myself from upgrading (it isn’t easy to fight my urge albeit) because I just don’t feel it’s enough of an upgrade from my X.

Im holding off for iPhone 11 when Apple plays catch up to Androids 5G. By then the carriers should have 5G off the ground to the masses. So waiting won’t hurt as much when I’ve got a X in my hand.

The XsMax is missing nothing. I upgrade from X because of mostly 512 GB size, the ultimate storage size I have been looking for to fit my need and “slightly” larger size. Not interested in Xs because Xs is pretty similar to X in general.

120hz refresh rate and under 7.1 mm depth, iPhone 6 Plus 7.1mm, iPhone 6 6.9 mm.

That’s pretty much it at this point

True dual Sim facility, eSim just isn’t (and won’t be for many years) a real option in most countries - unless you like to have no choice and pay whatever the only carrier (if there is one at all) supporting this technology dictates.

I thought it did have 5G?

ProMotion is the only thing I wanted.
Same here. Was the only thing I was hoping it would have.

I would like a jet black color option. So the phone looks completely black. Now it’s like everyphone is a black front, with 2 shades of another color on back and sides. Would be nice if they made the back glass completely black and offered colors on just the bands. Maybe make the band brushed SS. An iPhone 4 look.
