I have VMWare Fusion Beta running and XP Pro runs great...but, what do you do with your setup?

I find myself rarely ever launching XP....

visual studio, mostly.

gaming blows on my macbook (understandably), so pretty much everything else is reserved for the PC I built.

I went and built myself a Desktop running Vista so that I'd have a backup machine for when my macbook needs to go in for service.

It's mainly used for gaming, and that's only rarely.

Winamp. I have some sound files that only Winamp can play, so I use Winamp's WAV writer to convert them to WAV files, then import them into iTunes and convert them to something more iTunes-friendly ;)

Half Life 2: Deathmatch. The only PC game I play these days. And a suite of applications for building my game, which runs very well under Parallels.

Mac ports of both of them - I'm done with Windows :)

what do you use windows for ?

generally I use them for looking out at things, and for brightening the room.

As much of a romantic glow my mac osX gives me, there's nothing that can beat the sushine coming through windows...... except when it's raining of course.

I use boot camp for...

...watching HD-DVD's on my xBox 360 HD-DVD drive. Any way to do this on OS X Tiger right now would be greatly appreciated!

Only use Windows XP (currently as part of VirtualPC) to run apps for which no Mac version exists of a Mac version lacks functionality. The list includes UCINET/Netdraw (used for analysing social networks), SPSS (stats package - Mac version is always 2 versions behind Win which causes no end of problems sharing files between platforms), and AMOS (for structural equation modeling). As the BBC has decided to launch its TV catch-up service on Win only will also have to start using Int Exp and Win Media Player again - the worst of all possible worlds!

I use windows (via parallels) mainly for visio and handling Hebrew office documents. Another thing is using Imagemagick's convert utility (I didn't want to upgrade the one installed as a part of the MacTeX package before I'm done writing). The rest (net-related time-wasting, numerics, writing) I do on the mac.

What I use

High Quality Chess Software.

Chessbase products including Fritz. Chess Media Products such as Fritz Trainer, and thing like Personal Chess Trainer.

Without being able to run windows, I would have to have a windows machine.

I was going to say for looking through at the garden and keeping out the rain but it seems we've been through all that already! :)

I'm happy to say I haven't had to touch Windows since changing to Mac about two and a half years ago. There was a demo copy of Microsoft Office on the PB when it was new but it was too aggressive in jumping in first to open everything and I got rid of it after a few days.
