Yeah, I don't think you can do that yet. You could set up a set of different replies in a list and then pick from the list, but I don't think you can have a "conversation" with Siri (yet).

Right, that's what I was saying. This thread title was "What do you want Siri Shortcuts to be able to do?" and that's what I want, but it's just not possible right now. Basically I just want to be able to control what Siri says in response to certain things I say. Like if I say "Turn on the bedroom lights" maybe I want Siri to respond with "Aye aye, captain!" instead of "Your scene is set" every time I say it. Or whatever. I have no doubt it will eventually happen, but probably not for a few years.

Is there a secret to using the shortcut titled Copy Clipboard to Notes? I keep trying this one, but nothing ever gets copied to Notes. This would be very useful to me. Thanks.
It would help us help you if you posted a screenshot of the Shortcut actions.

You can do this for sure!

So I finally got to play with us today and I got most of mine set up right and I thought I had this one set up right for sending an ETA text to my dad when we’re coming over so I have it where it automatically pulls my current location and creates the text message it says I am (current location), I will be at your house in (travel time) which is I think what I’m supposed to do except it always seems to set the location that I need the travel time to as my location as well… Do I need to have it pull his location as well before generating the text? Or am I doing something else wrong?

You need to pass in the destination location into the Get Travel Time step. If you have your dad’s address stored on his contact, you can pass your dad into it with the Contacts step and it will pull out the address and use that. Or you can manually enter the address using Street Address.

Yes. Exactly that. Just go to your dad's contact and enter his address details in the appropriate place.

His address is stored in his contact info already, how do I get the travel time to let me put an address in?

Pass Contacts into Get Travel Time.

My general advice is to read the information attached to actions. To bring up that information in the action search, tap the i on the right hand side of actions. If an action’s already in your shortcut, tap its icon.

Control my Apple TV. I’m really confused why it isn’t a typical device you can control on HomeKit anyway, but Shortcuts could be really powerful with Apple TV control.

When I say goodnight, also turn the TV off. When I arrive home, turn on and play some nice music. When it’s Movie time, open Movies.

I would like to have a shortcut that enables the hotspot without me going into settings, hotspot and then slide to enable. How to do that?

This is what I wish the shortcuts could do (maybe it can, just haven't figured it out):

When volume is anything greater than 0, I want to shortcut to make it 0 (mute). But if volume is 0 (mute), have shortcuts make volume 60%.

Does anything know of a way to do this?

I would like to send the ETA of wherever I'm driving (using Maps to navigate) to whomever I want to inform (using Messages). I would like the voice command to be “Send ETA to [so-and-so].“ Do you, or does anyone reading this, know how to do that?

You can almost do this with Shortcuts with the setup below. It parses the Siri input well to determine the address of the person you want to text but for some reason concatenates the name when you input it into the “send to” dialog for the message so that the contact is not recognized. I’m sure this is fixable pretty easily using text functions but it’s too early on a Saturday morning yet for me to figure this out! Also just noticed that I left the “Show when run” button checked for the message. You would uncheck that to have the message go out without any more input (i.e. automatically)

Here’s the shortcut for future reference: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/ee4b8cbabe3d4aeea94fe9d4131e6b2d

Here’s one that’s close to what you are asking (it sends the ETA to the person you are driving to). You should be able to modify it to something close what you want.

I currently have about 500 songs saved for offline use but if I get in the car and ask Siri to shuffle music she will play the 17000 or so that I have in my iCloud library and not the 500 or so that I listen to on a regular basis that are saved offline.

At the moment I have not found a way to make her play only the offline music and in the car over Bluetooth 17000 songs is too many to skip through to find the few I want.

I know I could turn iCloud off but I use it to keep the songs in the phone fresh and rotate them, I don’t want to turn it off.

I want Siri to be smart enough to play the offline music when I ask for it, and so far the shortcuts app doesn’t even have the option or I can’t figure out how to make that option work if it’s there.

And yes I know I could start playing them before I leave which is what I normally do, but sometimes I start listening to the radio first and forget to set the music playing offline only beforehand and as I’m driving I can’t manually do it either.
