I've been impressed overall. I really wish they just made a macOS version of this, but it does run really well on the xbox series x (way better than bootcamp windows on my 2017 iMac 27")
There are still a fair amount of bugs (I had issues remapping the Thrustmaster hotas X flightstick for example) and I do wish that I could integrate 3rd party programs into the sim (for example TrackIR, FSUIPC, Air Manager) but for what it is they did a good amount of work, and it is beautiful for vfr flying.
If anything, I believe this will hook lots of people into upgrading to the full PC flight sim experience, once they reach the limits of the unfortunately closed xbox system.
I am a real life pilot (fly a Phenom 300 currently) so I am probably more critical of the small compromises for these games/sims than others. For example, I can't stand using anything other than real rudder pedals in a flight sim game, I assume most flight simmers use rudder bars or buttons...
I also use Xplane 11 on my mac for some unofficial training, and just to keep up my skills in general (glass cockpits will make you lazy with steam gauges). I can't see the xbox version replacing my mac X-plane just yet, but I think the pc version could once enough add-ons have been developed and refined.
