Just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order; about to start The Old Blood.

Have a weak spot for retro-future and German military uniforms, especially the officers.(As bad as the Nazi's were, they sure looked good doing it) Thoroughly enjoyed the game and story.

Along with the new DOOM, I like this modern take on Old-school style shooters.

Just picked up Elite off Steam, the deluxe setup with all of the expansions. Now I have to find the PSU for my HOTAS. Looking forward to setting up my Oculus again for this too. Found some YouTube videos for beginners I'm looking to digest.

Ive had Elite demo for ages via PS4.

I cant land 1st ship.

Only a few meters from landing then a few hundred meters!

Prob re try when I find the time.

Found a game to stick with the last couple days - The Walking Dead Season 2. I played part of season 1 a couple years back on PS3, maybe just season 1 part 1? I enjoyed it a lot back then. S2 was free GWG a couple months ago. Obviously there isn't much to the gameplay but the story is great.

Haven’t played Battelfield yet.

It was decent. There are these Mini storylines that you play as different characters for various forms of war, which were entertaining at best. I didn't care so much for the storyline, but the gameplay was enjoyable.

Finished Jak and Daxter - ended up hating it.
I read afterwards that the port had some control problems, like the double jump not being very responsive and often resulting in falling to a lower level. This happened several times.
Some of the challenges were tricky, like manoeuvring the flight thing through the blue / purple portals.

Collecting all of the orbs proved a headache too as some in the spider cave were a nightmare.

Anyway, got the plat. Very glad to see the back of it!

Playing Resident Evil Revelations on PS4 now. Enjoying it, but man it doesn't come close to when I first played it on 3DS. That was some experience! I remember being so blown away at how good it looked on 3DS. I doubt I'd feel the same now if I replayed it!

Finished RE Revelations at the weekend and went about starting on Infernal difficulty.
Yeah. not sure how much more I can take of that!
There are monsters EVERYWHERE. I mean every corridor. Ammo is sparse, as is health.

Thankfully I started on New Game Plus which carries over all of my weapons and upgrades, but even then there is such a challenge here.
I'm upto chapter 3 (of 12) and am just shuddering at the potential final boss. I don't even think I would platinum it even with completing infernal, as apparently raid mode has its own challenge which lots say is harder than the campaign on infernal. o_O

Battling on with Revelations on infernal. Actually really enjoying it!
I love the challenge. My upgraded weapons are really helping me out, and now there are "Legendary Parts" to be found which pump up weapons power.

There have been some very difficult sections that have caused me to replay several times, but I have enjoyed the challenge. At the very least, I'm going for that gold trophy for completing infernal!

As an aside, the 2 Revelations games that are coming out for Switch in November have got confirmed joy con motion controls!
They sound really intuitive and I think they will translate well to this series. I'll definitely be buying them on Switch too as I love this series. :p

Mario v Rabbids on the Switch! Brilliant game, maybe one of the best in the turn based genre.
Also playing Disgaea 5 on Switch. Very similar to Mario Rabbids but soooo much customisation and potential compared to it.

We played RE4 on the wii via motion controls a lot...incredible experience! will never forget that. Glad to heat that's still a thing.

Battling myself through Dark Souls3 again. Making some progress!! :D

Spent some time with DS3 last night.

Road of Sacrifices, Crucifiction Woods... Found a boss (Crystal Fark or something?), haven't beaten him yet. Played with the crabs, explored most of that area. Killed two tough knights (one with a club, one with a big blade) and made my way to the poison swamp underneath. Found two estus shards and one estus flask fortifying gizmo in one night, which is really good news! :D

One thing I have learned that helped me enjoy Soulsbourne games more: Do not get attached to the souls (blood echoes) you have collected! Sometimes that would keep me from exploring new areas, "what if I lose my souls!?", but dying and losing souls is just part of the routine and should be expected. If you lose them, you'll get more later, no biggie. Just have fun and explore and accept the occasional death. :D

The main thing I learned is prepare to die a lot, a hell of a lot, and expect to be stuck for long periods in areas or have to backtrack and grind until you have levelled up.

What certainly saved me with Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 is the fact when I was at the point where I just could not progress and frustration was turning me away - I could summon help from another player and get me over that point.

I first started playing the games completely 'offline' and its clear by the way the games are structured, that playing in such a manner is essentially giving you a tougher time and a large handicap.

Sadly I am at point in The Surge where I am grinding and not really enjoying it, to get past another area and sadly with The Surge there is no online component to help me. I may end up breaking from it and starting DS2.

I played Bloodborne completely offline, cause the constant "ghosts" running around were distracting to me. It also felt more intense to be completely "alone". In DS3, the online seems less distracting to me, and I am enjoying reading and leaving messages. And getting a random HP boost when someone rates your message is really cool. :)

I too am completely playing offline.

But I'm partial about 'not caring about my souls' since it is indeed boosting my adrenaline rush a great deal if I'm exploring unchartered territories while carrying a sack full of souls :) which makes me super nervous at times which is great to some extent (and super annoying at times).

The thing with DS3 (and I assume with the whole souls series altogether) is that it's super scarce about giving you info how the game works. Which makes it extra hard if you don't watch guides etc along playing (started doing that now because I'm just missing out big time). Especially since it contains a lot of stuff that just disappears if you're doing this or that without any prior warning. For example I was always wondering how to level up the bonfire - now I finally know what those bones are for :)

Seems I'm slightly ahead of Taustin - started the first DLC a wee bit (tough but fun - love those 1v1 battles with knights) but think I'll finish at least that castle/town (Irithrill?) first..

Aaaaand that's RE: Revelations Infernal mode complete! :D

That final boss... o_O
But thankfully, I basically had it memorised how he moved and what I had to do and then got a little lucky towards the end.
I actually really enjoyed the challenge.
Unlocked me an infinite rocket launcher so playing through on easy now to mop up two of the campaign trophies I missed which I'm loving as I can't get enough of this game. :)

My mate just picked it up so now I have a co-op partner for raid mode, which I'm happy about! :p

Put the Crystal Sage in DS3 down on second try! Looted every corner in the Crucifiction Woods swamp area.

Now need to decide between Deep Cathedral and Farron Keep...

Was really glad once I've finished Farron Keep - still have yet to fully explore it since I bet it's full of goodies. There is a very useful soul-farming spot near the end tho. :D

Deep Cathedral was one of my favs so far, along with that haunted village. You get also access to the first dlc there if you own it.

Something different: I certainly will play the other two DS games as well, any recommendations about which to begin with? I own DS2 already but does it make much more sense to start with the very first one?
Also, bit of a bummer tbh, but I most certainly have to get a PS pro at some point to get Bloodbourne - which seems even more intriguing since I'm a sucker fpr HP Lovecraft..
