I won’t touch them because, of how unrealistic they were

Even with automatic calculations, I found that hitting with torpedos in Silent War 3 can be difficult.

The game also has a manual torpedo mode which makes you appreciate what actual subs went through on calculating the firing solutions.

Playing "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" on a MacBook Air M1 via Boosteroid. The experience isn’t ideal with mouse and keyboard—it would be better with a gamepad.

It was Baldurs Gate 3. But then I decided to update Gog, and now it won't synk with whatever DRM/license server and just shuts down.

Browsing around a bit there seems to be a workaround involving a bash scrip. But I think I'll just wait a month or two and hope for the best.

I'm torn on Civ VII ... I played the heck out of Civ IV (my late entry point) and expansions, then CiV V to a lesser extent .. only finished main CiV VI once but did partial replays many times. Hmmm ... but I love the IDEA of Civ VII.
It's high on my radar. And now that I saw them showcase it in the new M4 iMac video I may update my M1. I made the mistake of getting 256 GB storage and it's starting to become an issue

Bit of a mixed bag of late;

Messed about with Alien Versus Predator with mods. Pretty certain had a good mix, however the game in the Marine campaign is dark in the extreme so night vison is mandatory. Problem being the both the original & modded versions night vision are terribly harsh on the eyes with modern HW so that got put aside.

Spot of P.T. and some full games of similar style that are guaranteed to spook you, Visage etc.

Finally got round to installing the Marathon trio :) Very impressed with what's been done with so little. All three run great on PC & Apple Silicon. Good to see Marathon back on the Mac at 30 years young :) Opted for the FOSS downloads as no launcher required, also added one of the scenario's (expansion) which is equally impressive;

Apotheosis X spans 24 levels, with new sprites and textures, high frame rate animations, and an original soundtrack.
Apotheosis X’s new enemies and weaponry complement the original game's nuance and high skill ceiling. All three games have a great sense of atmosphere as does Apotheosis X that many new titles lack.

Speaking of that, Doom 3 on the dhewm3 source port with the D3HDP graphics pack & Quake both on the M1 Mac with the enhanced graphics thx to the vkQuake source port.

Coming round to the idea of an RPG, will likely be Dragons Dogma, Kingdom Come Deliverance or Witcher 3. Have Daggerfall Unity on the backburner as still pondering on mod's of which there are many...

Naturally this time of year you want a frightener, so Alien Isolation on nightmare modded to boost the graphic's and dial up the fear & tension to eleven... Plenty of other horror's lurking in the library :) Happy Halloween...

I'm back going through the three reboot Tomb Raider games, currently in Shadow of the Tomb Raider--looking forward to watching the new animated TR series when I finish!

More of a Dark Fantasy than Skyrim, On GOG & Steam...

I wonder if this game has DRM. I'm going to install it on another drive outside of Steam, after I download I and see. 🤔 Did you install any mods for it? Are there mods for it?

It's free, my version is courtesy of GOG. Not much for DRM, is just a mechanism to control the players. Pirates still crack games will little effort and those with a mind to DL such games can easily do so...

Enderal best RPG you've never played, kicked off with the GOG version, rapidly moved to the dev's latest release. Enderal is a game at hand and a game you should play, a must play for any fan of RPG.

  • Mostly focusing on Enderal, comes well recomended, justifiably so. A game to play for CRPG fans (need to own Skyrim to play)
  • Playing the Marathon trilogy and a couple of other scenarios on the side. Runs beautifully on Mx Mac's & PC's alike
  • Updated Doom 3 graphics package to latest release
  • Updated Quake on the Mx Mac to latest game engine
  • Updated Radiophobia 3 to latest full release, hardcore S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It's free if your up for it...

  • Looked at Alien Vs Predator Classic for the Mx Mac, ballooned in size and mods are EOL, works but...
  • Want to have a shot of Planescape Torment on the Mx Mac, still a WIP
  • Want to revisit Vampire the Masquerade, no easy answers on the OG game engine. No real balance, as of now keeping the game stock.
  • Keeping a keen eye on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, needs more time and likely a HW upgrade on my side to see the best of the game. Good is looks definitively S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Not a pass as should be priced as early access not a completed game...

What do you mean by CRPG?

What do you mean by CRPG?
Classic/Computer Role Playing Game... A style of game that emphasizes statistical character development through combat, dialogue, and story progression. Enderal exceeds that by a long chalk, delivers a very believable & imersive world.

Play and see for yourself...

Dammit Q-6. I just started playing CP 2077, and you felt the need to make me aware of *this*? There's only so much time in my day! :p

One is better than the other, only question is are you worthy? You will be challenged and you will be rewarded... Play and see. CP2077 is a looter shooter with weak RPG mechanics. Enderal is a deep, rich story driven CRPG that will draw you in ever deeper into it's world by the hour.

Want more action & adventure play Radiophobia 3, enter the Zone, a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game for Stalkers. Could be a rude awakening as R3 takes no prisoners. Deeply imersive, way beyond most commercial releases. Play good, play bad, play as you will, live with the consequences of your actions, you will be held accountable. Nothing is on rails here...

Radiophobia 3 is free as GRC open sourced the code years back 👍 Like all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games get past the initial grind then it takes off like few others can... Be warned if you get into R3 there's no turning back, as you will judge all by the same measure...

Back to playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam Deck .. older son has been playing with friend for last year or so so I was happy to get back and restart a Paladin. They've really optimized much better for the Steam Deck since I last played which is really nice. Things look good, the battery lasts longer and the fans are not maxed out.

Isn't it odd that Baldur's Gate 3 runs on Steam Deck but any Mac with an M1 or M2 SoC isn't viable?
