For those of you who have installed Mojave on your 5,1 (or 4,1), what video card are you running?

I'm running a PNY GTX680 (reference GTX680) that I flashed. It's running fine, boot screen and all. I just ordered a HD 7950 (XFX) that I'm going to flash as well, and see which I prefer. The only (small) detail is that it'll only be at 2.5GT/s, whilst the GTX680 runs at 5.0GT/s, and I wonder how much of a diff that'll be.

Sapphire pulse radeon RX 560 4gb on firmware 138.0.0.0 with 5gt/s.

With 138.0.0.0.0, HD7950 runs at 5GT/s without the need of R17 mod.

Hopefully you get a good 7950. Quite a few XFX 7xxx that has highly customised PCB can't work on cMP.

Also, the others already told you that the latest 138.0.0.0.0 firmware will unlock the 5GT/s for your 7950.

Anyway, the Sapphire PULSE RX580 8GB is my choice.

That's great news, thanks! I've been on Mojave since PB1 (when it installed MP51.0085.B00) and have been keeping up with all the ß updates... strange that none of updates up'd the firmware. I see from the other threads that I need the full installer to do that... I guess I'll wait for the GM and do it then.

Yep, you need the full installer. GM is almost here, Apple event is next week, maybe they’ll release the GMs at the same day or near that.

MVC flashed PC Gigabyte R9 280X on HS (MP5,1) and Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB in Mojave (hackintosh). I'm awaiting to see if Mojave will negate the need for graphics cards to have EFI.

9GB RX580?

Did not realize gt 640 was metal capable! Cool!

Only the Kepler GT640 support METAL, the Fermi GT640 is not.

is this a real possibility?

There is no need for Mac EFI to run the current 10.14 beta already. Apple even remove the requirement of having Mac EFi GPU to upgrade the firmware. The 138.0.0.0.0 firmware can be upgraded with any GPU now (natively).

I am running a RX580 in 1 machine, and a GTX680 in another. both on boot rom 138.0.0.0.0 firmware ( kindly modded by tsialex ) both NVMe booting on PB Mojave. no issues with either Mac Pro. Hopefully GM soon.

Sapphire RX Vega 56 8GB (reference board design with blower style cooler)
Flashed with Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega 56 Secondary BIOS.

Did the 138.0.0.0.0 update and installed Mojave BETA 9, all without a hitch.

Luxmark score climbed from 22500 in high sierra to 25500 in mojave.

And the card has no fan issues whatsoever. (The BIOS flash solved them for high sierra and the new issues people are reporting happening in mojave didn‘t happen to me.)
