I still got third-party apps that pose as widgets, very skeuomorphic widgets (including two calculators) just to protest their whole war on skeuomorphic whimsy since Yosemite (and iOS 7)
 
As for the missing calculator widget, another workaround is to just open the calculator app and then move it to a new desktop. Then you can just wipe left/right to get to it and it will be the active window so you can just start typing.

Just how does one "swipe left/right" on a mouse?
 
I believe Colourfastt meant an actual mouse, not the built in trackpad? Many folks I know don't ever touch the trackpad on any laptop and always buy an external USB mouse.

I would be one of those, and I prefer to use a desktop in any case.
