Looks either like inversion or endianness problem, similarly to flipped colours in some Linux distros.
the weird colours are different depending on whether I go through mac-boot or just boot through OF command line directly, that is, they're different depending on what's in the colour table for 8bpp.

Will try to build a current version now, this is pretty dated.

Opinion piece you might appreciate. Despite the title, it's basically a eulogy to how great Classic MacOS (and Macs) were, and how OS X, despite being great in its own way, doesn't have any of the same spirit.

I'm trying to integrate my G4 Mac Mini into my day job setup to give it a new lease of life but it seems to be having trouble with my USB switcher, and isn't detecting my Keychron keyboard or mouse. It isn't really practical to switch to a powered hub for the switcher due to available ports. Does anyone know of any decent keyboard/mouse switchers that work on USB with Mac Minis?

Couple days ago, but it still hurts a little.

After the death of Surcouf I've gone and dismantled her and distributed parts to machines as needed.

Maybe I put her back together if I figure out how to do BGA reballing or (more likely) just source another logic board.

For a while, I've been grabbing junked tech whenever the opportunity arises so that I have enough PCBs to practice surface-mounted soldering on before I tackle projects. Perhaps that could be a route for you to practice BGA reballing work?

This is impressive! Congratulations on this feat. Maybe now Windows NT for PowerPC will get some love, and maybe some applications ported, since NCommander's exploration showed that it was very much ignored by vendors.
it already got ports of doom and Neko Project II, although i don't think anybody's tried either on real hardware yet, and my Lombard is currently out of action until the used industrial IDE SSD I ordered from ebay arrives...

I got OpenBSD installed and... I don't know that I'll be sticking with it. Too many packages are just broken on it, and speaking of I can't install too many because they're on their own partition that fills up fast, just trying to install KDE Plasma already fills it up.

I did end up DDing, since NetBSD would have required a whole process to get booting.

Can you elaborate about if this process please?

I tried Linux on one of my iBook G3's and it wasn't compatible with the GPU. After that I stuck with Tiger and optimising it as much as possible.
