Newspapers of major events I deem relevant in my life... And since I'm close to Disneyland, I also collect Disney pins. Just got hooked into it by my girlfriend.

I collect dust.

And football shirts, but not to a crazy level.

I'm collecting NFL jerseys. NFC Champions mainly. Have a Saints jersey, Packers jersey and my Giants jersey. Need to frame them and put them up in my man-cave. I do want the new Steelers throwback at some point, but would rather get myself playing Hockey and then get a new nike Giants jersey when the Football season starts.

I'd also like to get a Southampton shirt, because the one I have is pretty damn old (think Le Tissier scoring against Arsenal in the last league game at the Dell).

In a coffee shop.
OP: This is a good thread for a forum such as MR, so well done.

I tell myself I'm not a collector, and then I realise that I am, to a certain extent, as large quantities of some items have made their way into my homes/flats/offices.

Okay, firstly, books, thousands and thousands of them (and I have read most of them). Every office, house, flat, (and even a small bizarre, but atmospheric hotel where I lived for nearly two years in the old town of Tbilisi) where I have lived and worked has somehow managed to grow books in vast quantities.

CDs, and vinyl records - again, probably hundreds and hundreds.

Coffee-pots (some utilitarian - some simply gorgeous); chess sets, if the country where I am based makes interesting ones (Kyrgyzstan, where I spent a few months last autumn, had amazing chess sets).

I seem to have a few fountain pens, too.......and as with most of the things I have, they are used quite a lot.

While I like Apple products a lot, I don't see the need to collect them. My ownership of the Apple universe is pretty limited as I buy what I think I will need and what I expect I will use. Hence, I have iPods (two) and an MBA (used to have a MBP, but, when I bought the MBA I found I was hardly using the MBP, so I sold it after a few months).

This. It's easier to show than explain.:)
You get the idea, I also have boxes full of comic books.:D

That's a damn cool collection

I've been collecting Lakers gear for the past few years. I got a Lakers jacket, a few Kobe jerseys, a Pau jersey, a Bynum rookie patch card, a ton of t-shirts, random stuff, etc. I want to get a Sessions jersey next. I would get a MWP jersey but they're probably gonna can him next year.

Since I'm Asian American, I've been collecting AA media (movies, albums, etc) since high school. I own everything Classified Records ever put out plus movies like Yellow, Debut, and Better Luck Tomorrow. I have the Mountain Bros EP on cassette.

Used to collect underground hiphop. Now all that stuff is on iTunes. Used to be my goal to get a copy of every Project Blowed tape in existence. I failed. Also collected rap battles and I've got all the early Scribble Jams and Rap Olympics on VHS.

Also collected B-Movies and Hong Kong films when I was in high school too. Troma FTW

I collect California Zephyr and Western Pacific Railroads memorabilia. My grandparents both worked on this train, which is where they first met. So it's a collection with sentimental value for me and my family.

I also have a moderate coin collection, which I inherited from my father and grandfather (both of whom collected just about everything, but the coins were my favorite). Can't say it's something I would have picked, but it's special to me because it was special to them.

Let's see... I also have a lot of books. It's no so much of a collection per se, I just really like buying and reading books. :D

I suppose I also "collect" astrophotography equipment, but that's more of a hobby (I've gotten much better since that picture). :)

This is gonna sound pretty random on this forum, but I collect rare plants (I'm into botany and horticulture).

Just curious, but do you specialize in a particular region or genus? I work in the Horticulture Industry (Pathology and Entomology). It's always fun to see what people are in to. I have friends who collect everything from day lilies and hostas to Japanese maples.

I collect Muppets stuff. Mostly posters, but some other things as well.

Mostly orchids. I used to collect other plants until the day I bought my first orchid, and from then on, I was hooked.

I'll remember you, for all my obscure poison requirements. ;)

Haha :D unfortunately orchids aren't poisonous. But it's ok, I do have a couple poisonous plants, such as the euphorbia.

Same here. I plan to use it in retirement. If you think you can live off of $50,000 a year when you retire (no mortgage or saving for retirement) then you need about $500,000 to last 20 years, assuming you'll get the rest from the growth of what you don't spend right away, and from Social Security.

I have a fair number of baseball caps and t-shirts, but I don't collect them.

I collect coins, and when my cup gets full, I take 'em to the bank and get paper.

Mainly video games (but I play them, I do not collect them for value), I've got quite a selection closing in on the 1000 mark! Apart from that I also collect music (records/tapes/singles), movies, fanzines, PPC Macs and of course; knowledge. ;)

Feel free to share what you're items you're collecting or even show off your collection. Maybe even get some ideas for starting up a collection!
[doublepost=1463411400][/doublepost]I'll start, as a kid I always watched Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and had the toys when younger of course which were played with extremely rough in my younger days. I've taken a liking to some of the Bandai Tamashii Nation Figuarts Action Figures, I've decided to start collecting them. Strange thing is, I've always seen these and some of the "Legacy" remakes of items from the original series and kind of shrugged them off...but now for some reason now I feel obsessed. Haha.

First up, is the White Ranger. As my collection grows I'll report back!

I have diecast cars and hotwheels. I had over 200 cars but i got rid of ALOT of cars this past weekend. I needed the money more than the cars. I did keep a few but the majority are gone to a good home

Ah I used to play with those a lot too when younger. Did you have the tracks and such? The ones you kept, are they exclusives or hold sentimental value?

Mine's a bit odder than most of yours I'm sure: I collect antique and vintage electric fans :)

Stuff like this (I have a fan exactly like the one in this photo; it's a 1940 Hunter Zephair):

are they for show or do you use them to cool off?

Well, some of the restored ones are competent enough to use to cool off, but most of the others are just for show. One of them makes the whole table shake when you turn it on, it's so out of balance lol

My garage is filled with yo-yos. Not the old Duncans but modern aluminum and plastic models. The ones with bearings that sleep for 5-minutes.
Those and flashlights. Again modern and custom builds with aluminum and titanium bodies.
I just love simple things that are crazily over-engineered.

Yeah, i used to have 2 totes full of tracks. Alot got lost as i moved around a bit when i was younger, but the rest of what i had went on to my little brother, which he promptly destroyed. So ungrateful and careless he is. The cars ive kept are my more recently acquired ones. Still in the cards. The ones i sold were ones ive had for many years, they were all loose (out of the cards) and beat up.

Amiga magazines, in fact anything Amiga related.. :)

I LOVE the amiga, still have my HEAVILY modded A500 , but its been mothballed, instead i run an emulator now.

Amiga OS, still the best OS ever created, way before its time and powerfull enough to run on a CPU that was basically an elastic band and two pencils wound together,
