This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Have you seen something different? I’d be curious to see if so. If, huge if, they look like this, I think I’d prefer the lenses to blend more like they do on the space grey.

I initially misunderstood your post to mean the all black housing on all colored iPhones. That silver has really grown on me. But alas I'm still not upgrading.

These phones cost too darn much. Lol!!!

Haha I feel you. From the 3G - iPhone 8 Plus I upgraded launch day every year without question. But the $1,550 after taxes for the 512GB Max kept me on the the 8 plus again. Imagine if the tariff situation impacts prices!

orig - black
3GS - black
4S - white
5C - green
SE(64) - space gray (black face)
SE(128) - silver (white face)
XR - yellow
LizKat, after almost a year how’s the yellow for you? I found I still love the back, but the cat pee gold sides are plucking my last nerve. I guess maybe they are too gold and not enough on the yellow side for me. I’m not sure exactly why I’m not happy with that color.

I’m going to go with either red, purple or blue for the next phone, depending on how they look in person. Edit: I meant green, not blue. Blue is going to be discontinued according to the rumors.

I would have gone for the coral but it looks like that won’t be an option this year. My Samsung phone is coral and I love it and would have liked to finally have my Android and my iPhone match.

I’ve had purple Samsungs for two years. I do love a purple phone.

I don’t know that I will be able to use an OLED iPhone. If it turns out that I can, I suppose I’ll go with anything close to the current gold XS to match my gold Apple Watch.

I didn’t answer the survey because I don’t tend to go for any particular color. Between Android and IPhone, I’ve had them all by now, except for green.

I laughed when I read the front of your post... yep, those gold sides nearly dissuaded me from the purchase and they still annoy me when I let it happen. The yellow is wonderful and somehow makes the gold-y sides look... well... fake? I'd rather Apple had done the XR like the 5C with the colors wrapping from the back on up the sides, but I suppose --and hope-- that there were other considerations and the gold wasn't just an attempt to make the price seem reasonable lol.

On purples: I totally loved my LG CU-515 cellphone: it was plum colored. Gorgeous phone, great design. My aging eyes might have more trouble locating an iPhone that color in the recesses of a handbag now but I'd still take the risk.

Anyway handbags come with enough compartments now to challenge memory on what belongs where, but I'd soon enough learn where a plum-colored iPhone lived. Dear Apple: bring it!

Your post sounded like you were ashamed of having an iPhone, not just neutral. You wouldn’t necessarily have a reason to set out to let people know you have an iPhone, but it’d be quite odd to be ashamed of it.

Some people fear having an iPhone stolen from them if it is recognized as such in a public place like a train station or waiting for a bus etc.
