While I could list features that might make me more productive, all I really care about for the 12.9 is a new silicone back cover and Smart Keyboard in colors other than navy and gray. And a magnetic Pencil (without having to use the Moxiware accessory). :)

I’d really like a better cover/keyboard solution. Something with variable screen angles would be good.

I’d love a clamshell keyboard accessory that ties into the design of the iPad and also extends the battery life. With 4K USB-C external display support and a trackpad for navigation. They could have my whole checking account for that.

^^^^^^THIS ^^^^^^
I HOPE we get colorful iPad Pro covers for both sizes, I was so annoyed by Apple the past 3-years. The 10.5" got some incredible colors (the deep Red leather, electric Blue) while the 12.9" was treated like the ugly red-headed step child. Hopefully IF these new iPads are announced on October 30th and the 12.9" is smaller, Apple will offer more colorful Smart Covers and Cases.

This just made me research, and it turns out all the 12.9” leather sleeves are sold out! I don’t think anyone has reported on this yet, and it gives even more credence to new Pros.

Heh main feature I want is it to be released so we can move from launch date and potential feature speculation threads to meaty discussions about actual features and workflows again . . HAHA !

Considerably lighter for the 12.9 iPad. Currently its 1.5 pounds, I would like it to be at least 1.25 pounds are even lighter. I would also love a much improved Smart Keyboard with adjustable angles, better reliability, function keys and maybe even backlight.

I just put 2 and 2 together with the Northeast location! Just moved off Cape last month after 21 years.
LOL, copy that. Congrats on getting off the rock :) I have been here about that long. Beautiful place but far away from everything. Which, is mostly a good thing, except when it isn't :)

Nothing of the things that I want will make it to the new iPad Pro. I don't want Face ID, I don't care about it being bezel-less (symmetric bezels are all I'd prefer on the bezel front). It's not the hardware that is holding the iPad Pro back for my uses, but iOS.

What you said. I'm kind of excited for all the hardware improvements + performance gains but we'll still be dealing with iOS 12 for another year which is limited in its current state and still feels like a blown up smartphone experience on the iPad. The real changes will come in iOS 13 next year and by then everyone here will pobably be craving the next iPad anyway.

802.11ax support
WPA3 support

I totally get that people might respond with "but there's no access points" or "nothing supports it". That's not the point. 802.11ax routers are just now starting to appear and WPA3 has just been finalized. What this'll do is drive the industry forward. You know, like Apple used to do. I want to see more (and faster) adoption of these.

I have an air 2 and it works well, but am wanting to upgrade for the higher ram and capabilities that come with that. I just hope there isn't a huge price increase.

usbC with TB3 support...but i guess this is an 2019 upgrade IF they go usbC this year

After owning every iPad, the most important thing to me is an Apple branded good old fashioned thick/tacky silicone case — both front and back pieces.

Nothing aftermarket touches it, and my iPad 10.5 won’t stand on its side when using it in my bed. Slips on the sheet. So I have to use the 9.7, which fits everything better for me size wise as well.

I’ll pay stupid money for that. Without it, I don’t think I’ll be buying another iPad.

I agree. We all know that the new Pros are gonna be great, but their potential will be limited by iOS.

I am planing on buying USB-C to Ethernet adapter but if we get 802.11ax support i will buy a new access point instead.
However i am very doubtful since the new iPhone XS did not get 802.11ax support.

This sounds like a laptop.
