Seriously, 11.1 update comes out today to squash some 11.0 bugs among other things... and now I see many more notifications like this (first notification in the pic). I don’t understand! How can stuff like this get past their testing? Is Apple slipping? This is a x.1 update! Does android have this goofy stuff happen too? I don’t get it. I would’ve thought 11.1 would be more refined and now I’ve seen more notifications like this. I’m a big Apple fan that wonders if they are slipping.

What type of iDevice do you have?

I had the same issue (was beta 5), so you're not the only one. I'm on 11.2 beta 1 now so not seeing the issue anymore.

Instead of squandering your time on the forums, you should have contacted Apple customer service and reported the issue.

I know you haven contacted Apple. So what’s the hold up???

Would you say the UI and UE (user experience) is at par with iOS 10 on your device ?

When iOS 11 first came out, I noticed it much quicker than iOS 10 but noticed some bugs: occasional notification issues like the pic, freezing of apps, and screen turning black with a wheel. After 11.1 today, I see about the notification issue about 10x more frequent now. Just strange.

Why haven’t you called Apple customer service and reported the bugs???

I appreciate the response...Hope you get it sorted!!

Why do you keep harping on this? They're not going to issue him a custom software version to fix it and I'm sure they're aware of this issue given that this is a common problem that has probably reported dozens of times since iOS 11 was being beta tested.

You should never assume what has and has not been reported to Apple.

If it warrants a thread here it warrants letting Apple know.

Mine's been fine too... but it's unacceptable that any paying user is seeing stuff like this in a supposedly finished product. A few on here will be along to tell you that what you are seeing doesn't exist - don't let them and Apple get away with it! Report!

You are saying there are bug free computers and mobile devices? Or that basically any computer and mobile device is basically unacceptable?

Take a look at any device that can't be updated. Most are near bug free. Apple has started using the idea of free updates as an excuse to release beta quality software as final release.
So you are saying that the last releases of major versions have less bugs than initial ones. Hardly new or surprising when it comes to pretty much any software (or technology) basically.

To me, the differences between iOS 10 and 11 isn’t huge. One would think that it would get more stable. iOS 11, to me, is the most buggy update in years. I cannot recall how many times iOS 11 has froze, how many times the notifications are misaligned, or when I’m listening to the SiriusXM app, the wake screen sometimes shows the audio controls of the XM app, but many times it shows Apple Music and a song from my playlist even though I’m listening to XM. It is sad that I had to delete the stock calculator app because it is barely usable to me without making many mistakes. Really, a calculator? I haven’t downloaded the calculator again to see if it was fixed in iOS 11.1, but still I guess one would think refinements and stability would be happening versus instability. I guess I’m just ranting. I can call Apple but reporting dumb stuff like a calculator is irritating. Does Apple really not know of these things? As a big Apple fan, it’s frustrating. I just bought my second Apple Watch. The SS Series 3 with watchOS 4.1 is fantastic. Very refined from earlier versions.

iOS 8 was the worst version ever. iOS 10.3.3 was stellar as iOS 11.3.3 will be. iOS 11.1 is better than iOS 10.1, iOS 9.1, iOS 8.1 and iOS 7.1. IMO of course.

So you think it’s this black and white? Surprising that someone who has posted on average 18 posts every day for 6 years on a Mac fan forum, can’t understand what people are consistently saying on here. No software or hardware will ever be perfect, will ever be bug free.

But we’re not talking about the bugs that naturally find their way into software - for the billionth time, we are talking about releasing UNFINISHED software - 3D Touch lag, calculator doesn’t work, features missing/removed. My comment basically accepts that just because iOS 11.1 seems to have ironed things out for my personal needs, doesn’t mean that the chap having problems with it is wrong, quite simply we don’t all notice/care about every single problem - it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Unlike some, just because I don’t have a problem, I won’t be telling people they’re wrong and their problem doesn’t exist and “is basically normal”, let’s demand better, or do we just never fix anything? Maybe I go back to my Nokia 3310 because hey that’s what was normal.

You’d have thought someone who has that much time over 6 years telling people they’re wrong would have got the messages by now?

I've had the same issue with text overlapping notification background since 11 GM. It happens randomly from time to time.

Report it. Move on.

I hate to be devils advocate but are you sure that it’s not an issue with the “Detroit News App”. I use to have the same issue with cut off notifications on some other apps before they was updated, perhaps you should notify the app developer too.

Could be but it is with others too. Here is a pic of it happening to tapatalk and WhatsApp too. I would get it occasionally after 11.0 update. But now it is very frequently after 11.1. It seems to have gone backwards now.
