iOS 11 thus far has been stressful, frustrating is an understatement but hopefully we are turning a corner as 11.1 seems to have improved.

Could be but it is with others too. Here is a pic of it happening to tapatalk and WhatsApp too. I would get it occasionally after 11.0 update. But now it is very frequently after 11.1. It seems to have gone backwards now. I do like your home screen pic though

Wow it does appear to be the iOS 11.1 update, thanks for letting me know you see the issue with other apps too. If I come across any fixes il get back to u, until then il try a few experiments on iOS 11.2 see if I get any of the same Graphical issues.

This one is weird. The first USA Today notification is bad but the second one is fine. Seems to be a double notification too.

Why do you keep harping on this? They're not going to issue him a custom software version to fix it and I'm sure they're aware of this issue given that this is a common problem that has probably reported dozens of times since iOS 11 was being beta tested.

Are sure for a fact they are aware and a dozen people reported the issue??
If people still have this issue six month from now, I will point my finger at you for making false assumptions. And reporting a bug one more time never hurts.

So you think it’s this black and white? Surprising that someone who has posted on average 18 posts every day for 6 years on a Mac fan forum, can’t understand what people are consistently saying on here. No software or hardware will ever be perfect, will ever be bug free.

But we’re not talking about the bugs that naturally find their way into software - for the billionth time, we are talking about releasing UNFINISHED software - 3D Touch lag, calculator doesn’t work, features missing/removed. My comment basically accepts that just because iOS 11.1 seems to have ironed things out for my personal needs, doesn’t mean that the chap having problems with it is wrong, quite simply we don’t all notice/care about every single problem - it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Unlike some, just because I don’t have a problem, I won’t be telling people they’re wrong and their problem doesn’t exist and “is basically normal”, let’s demand better, or do we just never fix anything? Maybe I go back to my Nokia 3310 because hey that’s what was normal.

You’d have thought someone who has that much time over 6 years telling people they’re wrong would have got the messages by now?
The problem is that people are trying to make out to be black and white, which is what often gets pointed out to them. But in many instances unless someone is bashing Apple as well then what they say must be automatically in defense of Apple and their words get automatically twisted to fit the narrative.

It looks like as it is often enough the case when there isn't much to the argument, things quickly turn down the ad hominem path. Doesn't appear there's much discussions to be had.

Strange that this is happening so frequently for you. I remember seeing this in an early beta version of 11.0 but haven't seen it since. I've been on every beta of 11.1 on a 7 and now 11.2 on my 8.

Maybe Apple should skip iOS 12 and just concentrate on getting iOS 11 working properly (or another iOS 9 type release - where iOS 9 was not a major release because engineers were holding back on new features in favor of “under-the-hood” quality and stability improvements ). Just add a few enhancements and let us enjoy our products. It seems lately they just get the OS nearly useable and then we are back to square one with the next iOS version.

You should never assume what has and has not been reported to Apple.

If it warrants a thread here it warrants letting Apple know.
If it warrants letting Apple know it certainly warrants a little investigation to see if it's a common IOS problem, an installation problem, an Application problem, or a device problem before letting Apple know anything.

Fast typing with basic arithmetic operations in the Calculator app is still jacked up as well. Or was that a 11.2 fix?

Seems like the very definition of a 100% bug free software/hardware environment is not possible. And who gets to draw the line in the sand at the perception of what constitutes unfinished eg microsoft releasing a fix that crippled dchp servers is my favorite example.

Anyway I don’t consider iOS 11 unfinished, but it’s clear we have differing definitions.

Why don't you report it then.

I may have found the fix for the notification issue. I restarted my phone and the problem still persisted. I then went and cleared all notifications and so far I haven’t seen any mis-aligned notifications. Strange. I’ll update this thread if it makes it through the day. It should’ve already happened again since this morning.

Could be that Apple development has new "rules" for notifications and some applications dont't follow those rules. I don't have enough apps that I use notifications with to test enough

This latest update have made the freezing worse for me

Why haven’t you called Apple customer service and reported the bugs???
They already know everything. I've been on the phone for hours with them with no outcome at all. I pay extra for Apple care + but they don't support software? So pathetic. Its Apple that have ruined my phone not me

Hey! He is a costumer, he doesn’t have any duty towards reporting stuff to Apple. His whole point is that this should work out of the box because it’s basic functionality.

We don’t live in a perfect world and developers can only test so much, as there too many variables that can cause an issue.

So just because you are a customer, doesn’t mean you can’t contribute and make the world a little better. Why feed kids in another country if they are not your kids and they don’t live in your your country?

You can take the high road and contribute or you can live in your shell and pretend the world revolves around you.

IF, they knew everything, then they would have fixed all the bugs from the get-go.

You should have read the terms of Apple Care+ before paying. Once you paid for it you automatically agreed to the terms even if you didn’t read it.
Same reason no PC manufacturer will warranty a virus infested computers.

This should be common sense in 2017.

I called them 2 days after ios11 came out. They were already aware of the problems then. They still haven’t fixed it. And I’d still have Apple care+ regardless of the software support. I just think it’s pathetic that they don’t include it. They have ruined my phone. Not me.
