Something that's been said about iOS 7, 8, 9, etc.
iOS 8 was awesome and 8.4.1 is still my favourite OS. iOS 9 was crap. iOS 10 was awesome. iOS 11 is crap. Seems they are mimicking Windows in this respect. iOS 11 is definitely the worst so far though. Yes it's worse than iOS 9.

I’ve only ever known 6, 10 and 11. I wasn’t aware the others you mention had issues, I only came back to iOS last year after some years in the android wilderness so it’s good to know as I guess all issues get resolved eventually. Your post gives me hope.

Did you pay for ios11?? No you did not!! Then you have no ground to stand on and you have no right to demand anything. Go save whales or feed a homeless person instead. The world does not revolve around your iPhone issues.
Try contributing to the world instead of complaining about iOS glitches.

Do you think you could try commenting in a way that isn't so endlessly aggressive? I'll just mute you next, but really—there's no need for the way you harangue.

Of course they “paid for iOS11” what other option is there? Sure, they can stay on previous build but when apple are continually pestering your phone with notifications to update, most people assume its for their benefit. Apple sells an iPhone with an included ecosystem that is fixed. We have to ‘trust’ their updates are for the benefit of the user.
Its not like android where if an update stinks you can roll back or throw a custom software at it. With Apple we have only one option. So yes I ‘Paid’ for iOS11 when I purchased my 7+

I have yet to see anything on Apple website, that clearly states that we have paid for all future updates when we bought an apple product. “All future updates are included in the price”.

You are saying there are bug free computers and mobile devices? Or that basically any computer and mobile device is basically unacceptable?

I don't think he is saying that, however you are correct nothing is bug free that being said with macs and windows pc's you can choose the OS of your choice and which works best for you, You cannot with iOS once your updated your stuck like a mouse in a trap and have to wait for the "Almighty" to release a fix.

Do you really think iOS 11 is only paid for by the 8/8+/X sales? Seriously? It just seems like you are arguing with people for the sake of arguing. Someone is having a problem with their phone and seeking others in a similar situation.

EDIT: When you buy an Apple device, you pay for all future upgrades that Apple determines is allowed to put on it, and even if you can't, your purchase still goes towards future R&D..

Future R&D costs a lot more then than price of an iPhone or few million iPhones. R&D is very expensive on the large scale. You could say that some of the money Apple makes will go towards R&D and free device support.
When you bought a pc, it doesn’t come with free OS upgrades. If you bought it with Windows XP, you still have to pay for Windows 8 or 10. Now Microsoft did provide a limited time free upgrade to Windows 10.

Fair enough.
But is it possible for people to stop blaming Apple for ruining their life’s? When was the last time you spent more than 6 hours with out using your phone?

That's correct. And thst is unfortunate in some ways. At the same time that is something that is known about iOS, and also something that doesn't change the whole part about software essentially never being bug free.

Could be but it is with others too. Here is a pic of it happening to tapatalk and WhatsApp too. I would get it occasionally after 11.0 update. But now it is very frequently after 11.1. It seems to have gone backwards now.

Now that I think about it, that would happen to me too, it happened on my iPad running a version of iOS 10.

The only real problem I've had with iOS 11 is that if I let the screen on my iPhone go to sleep on its own, sometimes I can't get the screen to come back on. It takes like 5 or more pushes of the power button to get the screen to come back on. My sister has had the same thing happen with her 7 as well.

Seriously, 11.1 update comes out today to squash some 11.0 bugs among other things... and now I see many more notifications like this (first notification in the pic). I don’t understand! How can stuff like this get past their testing? Is Apple slipping? This is a x.1 update! Does android have this goofy stuff happen too? I don’t get it. I would’ve thought 11.1 would be more refined and now I’ve seen more notifications like this. I’m a big Apple fan that wonders if they are slipping.

I did a reset settings and it all went away. It has been 3 days without any problem. It was so frequent before but that did it. Give it a try and report back.

If MS breaks your computer, which it’s ben known to happen, you can roll back, same as iOS.

To me ios 11 notification screen has been too buggy compared to ios 10 and its really frustrating why remove the old separate notifications screen in ios 10 and put them together on a lock screen and don’t expect bugs

No one who is reasonable is expecting an entirely bug free experience. All you do on this forum (which you are incredibly active on) is defend Apple. It isn’t actually helpful to tell a bunch of people experiencing frustrating issues that all software have bugs. Every one of us knows this and, as someone who has used every version of iOS, I can tell you that iOS 11 is by far the worst among them in my experience. Just be a little empathetic and maybe realize that a barely functioning calculator app making it through almost 20 versions of beta without being fixed might be at least a little indicative of Apple’s subpar quality control lately.

Sadly, it's almost funny that if one doesn't attack something or someone then one is automatically defending it/them. Real life is far more nuanced than that, and pointing that out doesn't mean you have to jump on a bandwagon of extremes and either attack or defend.

(And this is all in response to a post where I say that it's rather unfortunate that Apple doesn't allow downgrading--clearly some serious defending of Apple there. Not to mention complete overgeneralization of the vast majority of my posts that have nothing to do with any of that but are are related to troubleshooting, bringing up information, asking questions, etc.--but, hey, why bother actually looking into something when hyperbolized claims can just be made up to fit a narrative.)

I agree. It’s exhausting having to deal with some posters here who's only purpose here seems to be to derail every single thread/post where there may be a mere hinting that people maybe unimpressed with a particular feature or issue with iOS or their Apple hardware.

This particular poster never ever offers any help or attempts to resolve others issues. Nope. Only here to condescend & make everyone feel they are being ridiculous for even suggesting that their may be issues with iOS or iPhone. Its all our fault, there is no issue bla bla.

Theres dedication and then there’s sad & borderline pathetic devotion to a corporation that they won’t hear a bad word said about. We all love our apple devices but when things are messed up we come here to discuss/look for advice...Not to be spoken down too.

The thread title alone should be enough to tell these particular posters that it’s not the thread for them. If they clearly don’t come to help..then why enter a thread to make others who are already struggling, feel shamed for airing their grievances?

You can roll it back within a certain time period. You have to use iTunes on pc to do it.

EVerytime i restart my iphone, when it boots back up, i start getting "new messages" that are more than 200 days old. Some even more than 400. Sometimes, i dont even get imessages that friends send me.
Sometimes, the battery widget doesnt even work, so i cant see how much % my headphones have.
Sometimes, when i listen to music, i dont get any of the music controls on lock screen, so i have to unlock it and open music/control center and then change it. Everything is slow as f**k, every app started to lag badly, even when i open the phone app i need to wait at least 4seconds for it to load properly so i can make a call. Sometimes, when i get a message and i open it, the whole messages app will be in horizontal mode and it wont want to rotate back to portrait. So i have to doubletap, close, and open again for it to work properly.
This ios11 is a complete disaster and i'm losing my nerves with it every single day and i'm quite worrited if its the same crap on iPhone X. I mean the whole iOS on that phone looks like the Apple iOS dev team didnt even know that phone was coming out. So much unsued and wasted space on that phone that its trully magical how they pulled that off.

Same issue here on my iPhone 7 on 11.1 Its constant on my phone. My iPhone X doesn't do it at all..
Really really bothers me. Yes, we definitely are still "paying" for iOS updates. Your a fool if you think they aren't built into the cost of the phone.

You are....

Why haven’t you called Apple customer service and reported the bugs???
Paying customers are not beta testers. Maybe the intention here isn’t to report a bug so much as to scoff at Apple for clearly not testing their software.

By the way OP I agree. iOS11 has been a buggy mess. The released version has been the worst release I have ever seen. I had to go into the accessibility settings and turn off the motion on the home screen because if I went into a a folder the corner would flicker all over the place on my iPad.

I’m seriously starting to lose respect for Apple. Even Microsoft doesn’t have these kinds of bugs. It’s amateur hour it seems.
[doublepost=1510153738][/doublepost]
Are sure for a fact they are aware and a dozen people reported the issue??
If people still have this issue six month from now, I will point my finger at you for making false assumptions. And reporting a bug one more time never hurts.
Why don’t you go submit the bug then? :)

How can you roll back if Apple stops signing the older versions of iOS? I’d love to be able to roll back to the last version of iOS8 on my iPad mini gen1 because it runs slow as a slug on iOS9. I didn’t think this is possible. Do you have a walkthrough?
