It would be nice if they couldn’t do something to counterbalance, being able to have it close completely flat, making it that much thinner and compact would make it the ultimate 2 in 1That probably won’t happen because of the way it needs to counterbalance the heavier tablet display. To be honest that part never bothered me, but I can see why some folks would like to see it changed.
Maybe they can alter the design some and still achieve that counterbalance?
What would that have (component wise), that the current Yoga doesn't. All I see is a string of product names, so it doesn't mean much to me. To put it another way, what is a X1E Yoga.X1 Extreme Yoga with no noisy fan. No discrete GPU is fine with me.

So you want a 15" laptop that has a display that can flip around, no discrete GPU and no fan noise? I don't think that's a reasonable expectation for a variety of reasons. Just my $.02X1E means X1 Extreme with the Yoga's ability to flip the screen by 360 degrees to turn it into a tablet mode. Thus far, the X1E's screen can only be opened by 180 degrees. Based on my experience with the X1E's 4K 15.6" screen and the 14" WQD screen of the X1 Yoga, it makes a big difference in terms of producticity for me.
I guess you have not looked at anything in the past decade then..I would prefer a decent Non-Windows Laptop. Not necessarily a Mac.
Would really love to see a good Linux or even - better - FreeBSD Laptop. Not going to happen, I know. Just saying
Oh.. at a lot of things...I guess you have not looked at anything in the past decade then..
I'd take that15 inch, with XPS footprint, but thicker/heavier, beefier cooling system, two separate TB3 controllers - at least one them full speed, two easily accessible full length M.2 connectors, two RAM slots (up to 64GB), one/two USB A ports, full SD slot, matte non-touch screen that's not complete garbage, 130W power adapter and up to 100W charging through TB port, with 2060 Max-Q and any current 6 core Intel CPU. That kind of almost sounds like updated X1E...
