Sorry, but I love the Moto 360's design, got a metal band and been using for a couple months now. The stainless steal has been very durable. Though I do wish they had used sapphire instead of gorilla glass, I have fine scratches on the glass.

As for the apple watch, I'm planning on skipping the first generation and hoping they'll release a round version, the ui looks like it would scale wonderfully on a round screen.

I don't own the Moto 360 because I am using an iPhone 6+, but if I was using an android phone. The 360 would be the only smartwatch I would touch. It looks 100x better than anything else android wear has to offer.

All that said I have the Pebble steel and I love it. Works great with my iPhone, and I love the battery life. I would not mind the color screen of android wear, but battery life is just not good enough yet. I really do think the pebble steel is one of the best looking smartwatches.

I have seen some complaining about the Moto 360 Horween leather band. I got one, and put it on my pebble steel (using the steel connect), and I love it. One of the better leather bands I have had on a timepiece. I have used a lot of nice watches too. I got the brown leather band, and I think it looks and feels amazing. Check on my avatar picture. It looks great with the watch. I feel like motorola is headed in the right direction with the 360. Sure it could use some improvements, but that band is not one of them.

I actually like the Moto 360. But functionally I like the Apple Watch better. I am going to watch this space it may drive me back to an iPhone. I can see a future where I keep my iPhone 6S(Plus?) in my backpack or at my desk all day and just have my Apple Watch on. However price is a factor, yes there are watches out there that cost thousands but they are heirloom quality, and Apple Watch or any smartwatch for that matter will never be that as eventually it would get outdated. I would be hesitant to shell out much more than $350 for that reason alone.

I find it odd that no one is talking about the 5.0.1 update that just came out for Android Wear devices. It is supposed to bring some pretty cool features.

Good call!

I just got the update this morning on my 360. It's supposed to be a Lollipop-esque update for Android Wear devices. I'm loving the enhancements! Theater mode is nice; I would always get stares from people when I'm scratching my back at the theater and inadvertently trigger the screen. Theater mode requires you to manually press the physical button to turn on the screen. I'm not sure what the Sunlight mode is, but I'm assuming it makes it much brighter outside temporarily without having to turn on ambient mode (which is anti-battery). I'm excited to play around with all the watch faces. There is a Pacman one!!?

The watch is way faster now. Scrolling through all the watch faces is way better as before you have to go through one at a time. Now it's just flows like water.

Can I have some? Finally saw that freakin' ugly plasticky looking toy in person in Best Buy tonight.

I will not wear it even if it is free and somebody is pointing a gun at me. The line or something at the bottom is hilarious.

:apple: Watch is going to be a runaway winner both at the stores and fashion.

That's funny I feel the same exact way about the apple watch.its a girly pos toy to me

It looks great IMO, but feels plasticky and light. Android wear is also half baked IMO. In contrast the Apple watch looks terrible, but I will bet that it is going to feel awesome like a traditional high end watch.

I kind of gave up on smartwatches for now, I've tried them all. I went back to my trusty old dinosaur Rolex.

I still don't understand what Apple Watch OS does that Android Wear doesn't do. Especially for it (Android Wear) to be half baked.

The 360 is pretty ugly in my opinion, but I also think the Apple Watch looks kind of bland and tacky. I don't think any high end watch maker would consider Apple a competitor.

If you put a gun to my head, however, I'd choose the Apple Watch over the 360 in a contest of the world's tallest midget.

I'm so looking forward to the second generation 360. Give me a full 360 display, high resolution screen and better battery life, and it'd be perfect. I'm thinking about getting another 360, but the ZenWatch has my attention. I love the look of it. But, I'll probably just pick up a cheap LG G Watch for 79 to play around with until next year.

How usable is the moto 360 without an android. Could you tell us more about the Zen watch? How does the Zen compare to the 360

I got that face from here, i modified the small dial to show phone battery instead of seconds.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360/themes-apps/facer-skins-boostr29-t2877368

without android phone, all androidwear watches are just watches and not much else.

-zen watch screen smaller than the moto - hello bezel
-ambient mode on the ZW is brighter than the moto and stays on all the time unless its charging.
-quick release deployant is nicer than regular clasp.
-ZW charger is soft touch material and snaps onto the watch. usb port is on the side so the cable end points up while charging. would be more elegant if used with a 90-degree adapter. moto charges easier.
-ZW battery probably lasts 2+ days with ambient on but wife charges it nightly
-asus included some extra software for like remote camera, wellness center and some other stuff. the asus remote camera app works on the moto
-ZW vibrates to let you know it lost connection with the phone....i use Pear to do the same on the moto
-ZW lets you cover the watch to mute phone calls...i use swipe to ignore on the moto
-ZW $50 less than moto
-ZW has a SOS thing where it sends a preset message to any specified number along with location info
-ZW has no light sensor, so manual brightness settings only.
-the asus commercial showed a sweeping second hand on the stock face...its now a ticking second hand and i see no options to change it...

Not sure, I'm not a fan of the apple watch. Also don't have enough information as to how it will function yet, it's still a big question mark. My half baked comment was just in relation to android and not comparing. I also haven't experienced the recent update so maybe that fixed a lot. I did like my Moto 360 when I had it though and am willing to try the 2.0 version.

Hi Maximus96 sorry to bother you but the more i see your moto 360 picture the more inclined i am to get one. Would some apps on the Moto 360 work minus phone like the calorie tracker etc. How accurate is the heart rate tracker. Is it difficult to change the watchface?

There is no default calorie tracker.

the heart rate monitor seems to work fine. its easier to take a reading with it compared to the having to place the finger just right on the note 4. The two readings are usually within 5 bpm of each other.

changing the stock watch face is simply press-and-hold the screen, then swipe to whichever you want. For custom watch faces using Facer or Watchmaker, you first select one of them as the face on the watch, then use the facer or watchmaker app on the phone to send the custom faces over via bluetooth.

Most apps that you install on the watch that require you starting it from the watch will work without tethering. So things like the following will work just fine:

heart rate monitor
step monitor
calculator
alarm clock
stop watch
watch
watch faces (not customizing watch faces)
games
Calorie counter
playing music you store on the watch

Changing watch faces is extremely easy. You hold down on the screen of the watch and scroll through the watch faces and click on one. You can also change from the app on the phone, based on certain 3rd watch faces. Customizing a watch face (such as changing the background picture or the color of the hands) is done on the phone app.

Just got the Moto 360 and love it. Android Wear is clunky at first but once you get used to it, navigating through the interface will be pretty simple. Also like the fact that all the basic watch functions including heart rate monitor, pedometer, and stop watch all work without being paired with an Android phone.

Watch looks good enough to stand on it's own and definitely looks like a $300+ watch! Here's a comparison with the other watches that I have.

Rado vs Emporio Armani vs Moto 360 vs Pebble Steel

Wow, I still cannot believe something as ugly as the Pebble watch exists. That bezel literally takes half the screen and who the heck would put a big pebble logo on the front?
