Christmas day I saw "The Adventures of TinTin". Overall, it was watchable, but there's just something about the 'lifelike computer animation' that just isn't... right somehow. It distracted me from enjoying the movie.

Does it look anything like the "dead eyes" animation style Robert Zemekis creeped people out with in previous years?

have you tried the ring? its pretty good :)

i myself watched the scary movie series and glass-tiger series, both are hilarious

Yeah, I've seen these. I just saw a post about Hostel 3, so I rented that one. Has to be better than the second one I guess.

Also, a great horror movie was Insidious. Actually made for adults and the 5 second attention span pre-teen audience.

the original stephen kings are still amazing e.g. it,the shining,

i heard they are going to make an updated version of it (the clown). and albeit being old the exorcist is good to (i just watched it). insidous was good but wouldn't rate it my favorite.

The new version of the Exorcist, whatever it's called, scared the shiite out of me. The scene where the girl was walking down the stairs upside down on all fours where her head was turned around... wow.

Yep, "Polar Express" is definitely another one of these.

I just finished "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II", and although it also has a boatload of computer animation, (pretty sure dragons don't exist IRL), it doesn't creep me out the same way.

While Layer Cake is a good British gangster movie, it isn't Guy Ritchie or Ritchie's riff on Tarantino's style. Layer Cake is Matthew Vaughn, the guy who brought us some of my favorite movies; X-Men: First Class, Kick Ass, Stardust, and Layer Cake.

Just watched Hear No Evil, See No Evil (or whichever way around it is), used to love it as a kid when I had no idea what was going on. Not so much now.

Watching "Moneyball" right now. Once I found out you could buy it on iTunes and watch it right now instead of waiting until January 10th to buy the Blu-ray I was on board. Even has the iTunes extras w/ it.

X-Men (the original)- Although it cares not about original story, this is one of the best comic to movie translations.

I saw the new Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol this week. It was entertaining. There's not really any new stuff as it's the same old action movie format, but it was fun.

I also took the boys to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chipwrecked movie because my six year old really wanted to see it more than Tin Tin. As kids movies go it was brainless fun. As an adult I'm not sure if I should be disturbed that all of today's Pop hits like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, etc. are being marketed to children through Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

I just watched A.I.: Artificial Intelligence

It was one of the most wonderful films I watched. Only a few films ever bring me to tears, and this was definitely one of them. I mean it's just a great film. If you haven't seen it, I'd go see it. Just a wonderful movie. Here's the poster for it.

On Christmas Day, we watched "A Christmas Story". All I know is that someday I will shoot my eye out.

Much better than having to sit through "It's a Wonderful Life" again.

Took the kids to see Beauty & the Beast in 3D today - it was short (only about an hour and a half) and the kids loved it. And amazingly, that's the first time I'd ever seen it.

All in all an afternoon well spent.
