Hm. I just watched the postman and waterworld, briefly considered making a mashup of them into a single epic where Costner just kinda roams around the world and nothing terribly interesting happens on sea or land, & itd be watched more like a screensaver than a movie.

I’ve heard Horizon is pretty good though.

Still as good as it ever was  A period piece that should simply be relished for what it is, more so what it represents... A firm favourite. When Worlds Collide is a Sci-Fi gem that should be watched. While aged it remains to be both engaging & entertaining. Illustrating the very best & very worst of us...

I read the book ages ago. My father was also a sci-fi buff (well as they say like father like son) it was written in the 1930s and I quite enjoyed it.

Went the 24th to the movie theatre to see:

scale

Had a great time, it's a great movie with a very thin story, but you go for the interaction between Reynolds and Jackman and the fight scenes.
It's not created to"save" the MCU, or even have any influence on it, but that's great because Deadpool movies are just meant to stand on their own.

Unfortunately such inappropriate use of the Internet Archive will be it's demise. People are just playing into the hands of big commerce who want it shutdown completely. They dont want such resources to exist as they want all to be behind paywalls indefinitely.

Personally I believe media should have a cap on how much time royalties are due, then it should be public domain. Utterly ridiculous that everything is paywalled when the original creators are long dead & buried. Smacks of corporate law and greed. Naturally no court of law will derail such a money train, sadly the dice are loaded...

My advise to all is purchase physical copies and rip them, at least then you have a level of ownership versus streaming where corporate squabbles can effectively remove films from your libary with no regard, warning or compensation.

Love this movie, but the movie poster is way over the top. Not even close to the spirit of the film
Period and par for the course, what's new LOL. Truly an awesome film with a strong message that has clearly fallen on deaf ears. If an intelligence ever comes across our planet the only conclusion will be that we present no danger as we are far too busy killing one another, by the time we're done... We'll be back to throwing rocks at one another.

I just completed a run by the great American director Russ Meyer (but the film films, not the boob films) (ok thats a sliding scale), and while MudHoney, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill and Motor Psycho have that delightfully scary 1960s pre-punk punk charm, Vixen seemed to have a much more 1970’s feeling, and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls was like a hollywood movie. I dont like that Meyer’s films caused the creation of America‘s stupid & completely dysfunctional movie rating system, but I get it. Pretty ballsy even for today, much less 1965.

But then by some chance “Surf Nazi’s Must Die” from 1987 came on, and so… I guess thats unfolding before my eyes right now. for some reason.
