Average Joe. It was an average show with a nice real life story. The acting was amateurish and the script was cheesy but not bad for a $1.20 production budget. Definitely better than Megalopolis and no wineries were harmed.

So I did get to see Billion Dollar Brain and Funeral in Berlin.

Both of which I really liked.
The Ipcress File (1965) should still be available on either Blu-ray or DVD, some used ones mind and new. The two TVM's are on YT. The Fourth Protocol (1987) is good too, albeit a different character. I also strongly rate Get Carter (1971) one if not Michael Caine's best performances...

Beekeeper (2024)- I like Statham, but the story line and mechanics are so unbelievable it’s hard to keep the suspension of disbelief going. It just so happened I watched Atomic Blond earlier today and in comparison that is an unbelievably good story with the best, most realistically choreographed, kick ass hand to hand combat I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying, and then the music knocks that A+ espionage story out of the park. I’ve known it for a while, but AB cements the power of music in a movie.

actually, i’m revising my opinion of the beekeeper.
statham is excellent as always, though his best role by far was as turkish in ‘snatch’.
great fight scenes, mostly.
the other actors are hampered by poor dialogue, average direction and weird casting.
some of the poses for the camera shots are very hammy.
the south african villain character is so clunky.
having seen it twice, it’s not a movie i’d bother to watch thru again.
5.5/10

Bladerunner 1982, The Final Cut Edition. What qualifies as human? Could a human fall in love with an AI that displayed empathy, affection, and dismay especially with a human form…in a heart beat.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off (the) shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Every time I watch that film, and get to that scene, it takes my breath away.

One of the finest films ever produced, ask's questions of the audience in an intelligent manner. Rolling now on the media server...

Answer to your question is yes. If one is willing to travel the world to be with another, you will. No rules in love & war...

Atomic Blonde is right up there with the best of espionage fillums 👌
I’ve called Atomic Blond the best espionage story I’ve ever seen. It’s simply amazing, every aspect of it, stylish, intelligent, breath taking, the construction of the narrative, cinematography, sound track, historical setting, stunning physical action, acting, you brain can believe what it’s seeing. Then you look at the huge mass of cinema, this is one of the gems and for espionage stories sits at the pinnacle for the intrique and presentation of the story.

Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
The world is built on a wall between kind. Tell either side there is no wall and then you have a war or a slaughter.

Wallace: “We lost our stomach for slaves unless engineered.”
The newborn scene is heartbreakingly brutal. Wallace calls his creations “Angels” and he is their God, a great portrayal by Jared Leto. This film is brilliant and sad, but if vested in the Blade Runner world, not to be missed, the urgent search for the child of a replicant and direct closure (what happened the day after) with the original film. The entire cast is great, but I’ll add that Sylvia Hoeks as Luv, is amazing. She looks bothered by the sacrifice of one of her own, but shakes it off, and displays pure devotional malevolence in service to her master.

There’s a revolution coming, we’re building an army.

What will the third chaper bring? (Release in 2025) Another 50 years, in the timeline? Maybe I should not be holding my breath regarding a timely revolution, but who knows? It’s coming out as a series, Blade Runner 2099 because this is a safer bet after the dismal box office performance of 2049. On Amazon Prime, my fingers are crossed.

I enjoyed it although the way they did violence back then ... it's pretty laughable.
