Why? Just why? (I did sit through the whole thing)

Honestly, the lolly wrapper bringing down the whole containment system was an early harbinger of how bad it was going to be. I gave up soon after.
To be fair, the movie gets better, but it's still only the old "chased by dinosaurs". The whole purpose was to collect some blood samples. Not that the previous movies were great when it comes to the story (let's not count the original movie), but that was a little thin. I guess the whole idea was to throw "Black Widow" into the action, let her do her thing and hope that's enough to make it as successful as the Avengers. Epic fail.

Great... on an emotional level.

When I saw the first trailer, I was very skeptical. Bringing Krypto into a movie seemed like the most idiotic idea ever. What can I say, it works. It works really well.

When I watched it, I kept thinking, this is bad. It seemed like a fan-service to those who have fond memories of the first Reeves movie (I do). Then I realised what my "problem" is and that's probably the case for most people. We're thrown into a full DC-universe on a level of the last seasons of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl (more than the others) and Legends of Tomorrow... and we have no idea of how we got there. Once I accepted that, the whole movie just worked for me.

The moment that happened was the interdimensional imp (Batmite or Mr. Mxyzptlk?). After that, everything that followed was just working. For most people that's probably not the case. But that's life I guess.

Nice bridge to next year's Supergirl movie. I'm skeptical again. Pretty safe bet that Krypto will be back. And similar to Superman, it won't be an origin story. It'll be all in, as Lobo is in the movie.

Will rewatch this before Supergirl.

Y'all just chucking SPOILERS out there without a thought towards those who have not yet seen these recently released movies, not cool...

Watched it last night and really liked it. I think Gunn got the humour balance just right as I was worried that GotG in Superman form would be too much. I thought the casting was really good, and this Luther was so much better than the Zuckerberg version we got previously.

Meanwhile tonight trying to entertain an 11-month old who didn’t want to sleep…

4/10 do not recommend. Horrific voice casting across the board; the humour felt forced and fell flat; and the story was just uninteresting.

I highly recommend watching this: great story, great acting, good F/X. It's a tale about a virtuous man who goes on trial in the afterlife to see if he is worthy of reincarnation. He has three guardians who acts as his lawyer and bodyguard. The story pulls at your heartstrings and strums it like Jimmy Hendrix at the final trial. If you watch only one movie this year, this should be that movie. I give it a 10/10.

The sequel, Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days.

While it is a good movie, it falls far from the standards set by the first movie. The acting, story, f/x equals the first movie, but it lacked the powerful emotional impact of the prequel.

The guardians is helping the brother of the previous movie to clear the 7 trials, while at the same time dealing with a rogue household god who keeps an old man alive past is allotted lifespan. We learn about the backstory of the three guardians through flashbacks. After the 2nd part of each guardian's flashback, was 80% positive how they were all related. The backstory was very straight forward, IMO.

Yeah I have to agree. The acting was superb. But the story line was "same-old" story.
I'm so glad I skipped it when it showed up on my recommended list. I'm skipping a lot of Hollywood stuff as what they crank out is repetitive and stale.😐 They need to stop rehashing old blockbusters and start remaking duds. A lot of awful movies of old were the results of comically bad F/X or acting; some had really good stories. I wouldn't mind a remake of Toxic Avenger. I know of few women who doesn't appreciate a man with a mop.☺️

Heavy on the CGI and thin on story, has been Hollywood of late. I guess they're still feeling the effects of the writer's strike. Stuff coming out of Korea and Hong Kong is better. I guess we only get to see movies that pass muster from the Far East. No one wants to put effort into subtitling 💩 movie. For that, I am grateful.🤗

Krypto (the 3D model used for the dog is computer generated based off of a 3D scan of Ozu (image below) is based off of the director’s own dog

An interesting film, lots and lots and lots of fight scenes, not too bad. Very much a cartoony feel to it. Over the top as expected for this type of film. An enjoyable watch and I didn’t catch all the twists at the end either, but I got one of them.

What can I say? A brilliant end to the franchise as it stands. Well done, and Cruise is certifiably insane with the stunts he does! Amazing flight sequence, amazing. It was well put together as a film too, could ignore all the banter rubbish from the President etc though. I now have all of the films and it is sad to see it go, but then again as Tom says he has been doing it for 29 ish years now! Makes me feel old… I believe they have no plans for any other MI films but Tom and the director have ideas for other new films instead.

Personally I place MI up there with James Bond, in some ways above it as at least they didn’t kill off the main character for no other reason then just for the hell of it…

I think I'm more partial to MI and Jason Bourne than I am to James Bond. I like Bond, but the other films seemed more entertaining.

I watched KPOP Demon Hunters the other night. I kind of liked it. It had a great soundtrack too.

If you're a big fan drift driving or drift racing, this movie would be a real joy to watch. Seeing some of the world's best drift drivers race in slow motion, coming within a few inches of hitting each other. Holy 💩, that's awesome 💩. If they played it at full speed, casual fans like me would not be able to catch the action. This is real drift driving, no CGI. I got a blast out of the Easter egg--a black and white AE86😍, and a white FC😍 parked in front of Team Alive's garage/HQ. Initial D fans would recognize it immediately as Takumi's and Ryunosuke's ride.🥰🥰

For everyone else, this movie would be meh. Weak story line, almost cliche: underdog overcomes adversity to become a champion.😶

I thought it was the best Superman film I've seen out of all of them, I found the last recent ones to take themselves too seriously, Superman always had a bit of silliness to it in the original ones. I thoroughly enjoyed it at the cinema and look forward to buying it to add to my collection and re-watching at home. It actually proved to me at least the super hero movies aren't truly dead... yet.

As expected, typical MI movie which worked for me.

And then they had to push it over the edge. The action is spot on, the story has more plot holes than black holes in the universe. The story is on a level of a 5 year old writer using an AI. Not only is "the AI is going to kill us all" a little dated, it's also executed very poorly. While I'm generally ok with popcorn movies, this is a new level of stupid (the amount of cringeworthy scenes is through the roof).

I like Mission Impossible the original movie but I don’t think Tom Cruise was in charge there. Mission Impossible 2 broke me, over the top goes way back. I’ve glanced at follow on chapters after I can stream them for free, or should I say not pay a rental fee and they just don’t do it for me.

Same. Part 2 was just terrible, and 3 was pretty bad too. After that it got better. I’d rate the last one about the same as Part 2, just in different ways.

I skipped Dead Reckoning when it came out and thought about binging all of them, but knowing I’d have to sit through 2 and 3 again, I just watched the last two I hadn’t seen. Might do a full marathon someday when there’s nothing else to watch.
