I use Magellan Roadmate USA, IMO it's much better then all the others, + it has free traffic updates, 3D buildings and coupons available for certain area's of interest as your driving. It also has a built in music player and will soften the sound OR simply mute the sound (your choice) as you get closer to a turning point or location of destination.
A ton of other nice features as well and I've owned all the High priced ones out there with the exception of Tom Tom.

Waze is the absolute best gps... on top of the fact it has a community and its free

waze's routing is absolutely horrid

It really depends where your at. Waze routes as good as premium GPS apps on highways/expressways all over and gives better live traffic than most. Waze still isn't up to par yet in busy cites streets that change frequently, but it's getting better by the day. I'll give it 6 months to a year before it can truly compete with apps like Navigon & TomTom. I just hope it remains free when it gets to that level.
