The poll was made before the announcement. Out of those 30% that said they won't buy 29% of them will be first to pre order.
This launch will not flop. It will sell more than the 6s 6s+ launch.
including the adapter and lightning headphones makes it a non issue now. Rare majority charge and listen and there will be adapters for that anyway.

Exactly!

I'm still torn on the colors. I only plan on keeping this version for a year and i haven't had a case since iPhone 4. 6 years of maybe 5 total drops no damage to the screen small nicks and such but nothing major.
What to do what to do?

I think I'll go with the matte black and it's going to be in a case with a screen protector since I don't like to risk damage from a drop. And I've dropped my phone quite a few times. No screen damage or even scratches to the protector when it landed face down on concrete. The case took some nicks but not the phone itself which remains in perfect new condition.

Keeping the 6s plus for another year, nothing major upgrade really :/ processor faster graphic better but I don't use it to game so no big deal, the camera looks nice but not justifiable. Killing off headphone jack really puts me off!

As an audiophile Bluetooth quality really isn't up there yet, the adapter comes with the 7 looks like a joke sort of back to 2005.

I hope they will put back the jack next year (highly unlikely) unless sales isn't good. Like Samsung forcefully remove the sd card slot on s6 era they put it back on s7

Tbf I will see what big deal iPhone 8 is about, given that the android is moving up so quickly (in terms of system stability and fluidity) my side phone s7 edge replaces the iPhone for taking photos.

For me the improved speakers are way more important than having a headphone jack. I do most of my listening with the built in speaker. And stereo with twice the volume makes a big difference.

There's zero difference.

I wish I couldn't tell the difference between $20 headphones and $400 headphones, but the quality is night and day (if you're an audiophile)

I dunno what the big deal is with the headphone jack. A small adapter takes care of it and hardly any different to have that on the end of the headphone cord.

My biggest concern is listening to wired headphones and charging.

For me that's zero concern since I've never used my earphones while charging. I've hardly used them at all.

I don't get this and I'm an audiophile.... If you're going to bring quality wired headphones with you, surely you can leave the adapter plugged into them no? Yeah, you need to remember the adapter but you also need to remember your headphones.

What am I missing?

Is the adapter passing an analog signal from the phone or does it contain a cheap DAC?

I think he means having the phone on the charger while in use so as not to be using battery. I suppose he would be sitting in a place where the phone can be plugged in while listening. When I'm home and can plug my phone in I also don't use it for listening to music since I have other means of listening which don't involve a phone.

Yes that's is when charging and using the earphones the same time. I'm sure not everyone will only charge there phone when it gets below 20%

Take for example if you get out for a long day been using the phone so much when you get on train sit down want to get a charge and in the same time listen to your tunes?

This move is backwards and I'm not sure what apples been thinking in a scenario like this.

My situation has nothing to do with headphones. I drive truck 8-12 hours a day and the stereo has no bluetooth, just a jack. So, this makes the iPhone 7 an impractical device for my lifestyle. I've had every iPhone released thus far but this seems to be the end of the road.

That would be hilarious if it contained a really bad dac. Not that most people would notice :-\.

This use case makes more sense. I bet they come out with an adapter that allows for both.

The :apple: iPhone 7 Plus  I love music and will happily and frequently enjoy listening to music on it with the included lightning EarPods until the AirPods are released. Then, I'll switch between both depending on the situation :)

Does the adapter allow you to charge and listen at the same time? No it doesn't
Does the adapter create an extra cable you have to carry? Yes it does
Just attach the adapter to your headphones and leave it there permanently. It's tiny.

As for charging, I can't even remember the last time I had to do both simultaneously.

It's just such a weird and unlikely scenario for most people.
