By the way, I wonder if monthly is too frequent for this thread (people might lose interest as month to month changes will only be minor). Perhaps quarterly would be better with you adding a comment at the end of the old quarter's thread to alert people when the new one is up. Just a thought.

Started to wonder that myself. We'll see how this one goes but quarterly may be how these threads end up. I'll wait for a little more input to see what others think.

I had this situation while on holiday abroad where I needed to download a work file at a café with wifi, and then bring it back to my PC which I'd left in a place with no internet, do some urgent work on it and return to the café to send to work. Only had my iPhone on me - so of course that didn't go very well. Which just felt so dumb. Not sure I can stand having a "smart" phone without an accessible file system/browser anymore.

Yes, the lack of file browser is getting pretty annoying.

Try the work around though, "Downloads" app. It's a band-aid solution, but it works.

S4 here. Paired it up with a Note 10.1 2014 edition for Christmas. Awesome duo.

Agree. Others here won't, but I agree.

I agree too. That's why I've kept my SGS3 since launch day (didn't see any new phone THAT much better). I've tried the Nexus 5 for a week and I'm sending back and going back to my SGS3.

I agree too. I'll see what 2014 brings. If I upgrade the battery will probably be the reason but for everything else the Nexus 4 has been fine performance wise.

Still using my Nexus 4. I got the Nexus 7 (2013) over Christmas and the two compliment each other very well. My dad got my old Nexus 7 (2012) and loves it.

Was with iPhone since the first generation...and then went up and switched to the Nokia 1520 last week from my iPhone 5.

Love the large 6" screen in high-def, customizable home screen, "glance" feature, phone build quality and photo capabilities.

Windows apps are certainly no where near what Apple offers, but they have what I need and the navigation apps from Nokia are incredible.

Only thing missing for me is being able to connect my phone to VGA or HDMI via a dongle so I can use it to present when I travel, but it will connect via wifi with the Beam app from Nokia...or I can still use my iPad. ;)

That's one phone I'm intrigued with... Surely you're not able to use it with one hand? o_O

Hah...not really, but it's so beautiful, who cares?

Seriously...can use it one handed in a pinch for checking emails and such.

The 1520 really is an incredible looking piece of hardware. I had a chance to play with one for a brief stint and it left me with the urge to buy one. It did make my Note 3 look like a tic tac though!

I agree, the design is fantastic, it's like a 925 blown-up version, screen is top-notch. No apps you missed from your iPhone 5?

Having owned every variation (except 5S) of the iPhone I was a little nervous jumping to something as large as the GN3, but I love it! Make very few phone calls anyway so its just for email/web/movies.

I will consider returning to the iPhone though if they produce a 5"+ screen, until then very happy to stick with this.

Using my iPhone 5S at the moment. Just got it a couple of days ago. I really am loving it, but still miss some things about android. I just can't pick a clear winner. I like iOS for a ton of things, and I like android for a ton of things. Since I have a MacBook, and iPad rmini the iPhone seems to fit just a bit better. Though I still have my nexus 5 if I need it.

Once Waze adds landscape mode (missing from initial launch for some reason) and a "better" version of Facebook, I'll be all set.

I'm not what one would consider a power user when it comes to apps, but it think I was pretty typical.

I think some people like to talk about the hundreds of apps that they use on iOS that aren't available anywhere else, but I have found that the ability to pin any websites to the home screen and the size of the phone, any apps I can't get on WP8, I can see online.....but I couldn't give you an example of when I have actually had to do that yet (at least on my phone).

I still use my iPad for most apps that involve "reading"....I guess the only one that I use regularly that is missing is my local bank app, but I can access the same info online.

I should also clarify regarding WP8, losing all of my iTunes music and photos would have been a deal breaker, but a windows has a nice desktop app that let's users synch iTunes with Windows phones....everything is retained and transfers seamlessly, including playlists. I also wasn't even aware that the Lumia 1520 has an FM radio...helpful at the gym. Facebook messages are also synced with the imbedded chat program so you don't have to switch between them.

Android right now but I'm about to switch to one of the new Blackberry phones. My HTC One X+ has turned me off of anything Android for a couple of phones lol. So glad the screen on/sleep button is starting to stick randomly so I have an excuse to ditch it without feeling guilty :D

iPhone 4S / iOS 7.

Smartphones haven't really evolved much since 2011.

I agree. I think android phones have improved, as the android phones were not quite there in 2011. I have an S4 which I love, but to be honest my iPod touch 5th gen, which has the same internals as the iPhone 4S, runs just fine. The only thing lacking is the camera as it's only 5 mega pixels. A 4S with a 4 inch screen like the iPod touch would be perfectly fine for me. My S4 is almost overkill for me.

Seems like most people are on new phones.

I'm I the only one still with a phone from 2012? :D:D

SGS3 (although I'm trying to find a good Nexus 5).
