Came from S4/note 2 with the god awful lag. Glad to be back on a silky smooth OS

Windows Phone 8X by HTC. Hopefully soon to be Nexus 5, but i need to get the money first. This phone depreciates like a fat person rolling down a hill

Can't people with an S4 throw on the GPE ROM and have a smooth experience?

Yea I rode the ROM train for awhile and even the GE rom's aren't perfect. Lots of bugs at least on Dubbsy's rom for Verizon.

Other simple things I missed:

Using headphones (double tap, triple tap, hold) - All of these functions were unavailable on the samsung devices. You can't use the mic button on Samsung devices (you have to use a samsung compatible earphone which I thought was annoying).

Siri - I really missed how easy it was to access Siri just by holding the home button. With google now you have to find the icon or create a widget, just creates more work to find it. Also not as integrated as Siri.

Have you thought about maybe selling your One dev and getting an S4 GPE?

Nope, really not a fan of the build materials/design of Samsung phones and without getting too longwinded, I get along fine with the iPhone/iOS. Limitations aside, it's easier to use an iPhone in my family/friends ecosystem. ;) I don't need/miss most of the added flexibility/customization Android affords on my phone, actually like the smaller form factor (don't web browse/game on my phone at all), and find the few things I need my phone to do just seem to work more consistently on the iPhone.

It's nearly a year since I've used an iPhone full-time (a few stretches in between here and there) so who knows, may find I do miss much about Android on my phone. Cross that bridge when I get to it.

I'm really starting to think you'll like the launcher in 4.4. It has the nice keyword that you can activate and it will activate Google Now. "Okay Google". You'd just have to get used to not saying anything similar in your normal conversation. :p

Well, that's all that matters in the end. If the iPhone is better for you because of the ecosystem, no amount of specs or anything will make it worth not getting an iPhone.

GS4 GE and I'm planning on keeping it for awhile. Last phone I bought was iPhone 4 to give some perspective.

I'm eyeing that T-Mobile iPad air promo but that's not a phone :p

Yes they can but there are some caveats in the roms that dont seen to appear in the factory GE, couldn't name them but I've seen complaints. HTC one be fully converted.

Well that's lame.

Verizon Galaxy s4. I tried the rom thing but with a locked bootloader, only 9gb of space left after TW and bloat, and the only thing we can flash are TW roms I'm tired of this phone and its issues. Updated to 4.3 and it's still pretty buggy and laggy. I have an upgrade coming in January and seriously considering either the moto x or iphone 5s.

Yea I thought it might be interesting to be able to activate google now from the home screen saying "ok google"

But back on my s4 and note 2 I felt google now was just very limited in what it can do compared to Siri.

Well, soon enough you'd be able to do it on either of those devices with the recent launcher.

Samsung S4. And loving it. No lag here. How anyone can go from an S4 to an iphone with that undersized screen baffles me. I went TO the S4 from the iphone 4 because of the small screen.

Note 2.

Currently revisiting iOS though, on my old 4S with iOS 7. To my huge surprise I'm really liking it  and will most likely drop the phablet thing for iPhone + 7" Android tablet. I'll probably go for the Nexus 7 LTE when it comes out here, and either just keep the 4S or get a 5S if I can afford it.

Really keen on a Nexus 5 too, if the cash flow is right in a few months... And of course an iPad Air would be perfect on top of the iPhone + Nexus 7 combo...

Dammit I hate loving these touchscreen devices so much :(

Sticking with my Note 3. Now that Nexus 5 is out, The Note 3 is the best android phone to date.

I have a SGS4 (TBH, I don't notice any lag or stutter) and a Nexus 4 ATM, I really prefer the larger screen sizes of these phones so would not consider going back to an iPhone until they go bigger. Considering selling them both and buying a Nexus 5. I had been waiting for the Google edition S4 to be released to the UK play store but looks like I will be disappointed. :)
