I want to know
IF I AM A MAVERIC USER and i have to reinstall my mac via internet ( it always downloads from the internet ) will i be still able to download install maverick or lion?

what happens if someone gets yosimite and has to reinstall will they get yosimite or maverick?

only if they had not changed the dock and he 3d style i would also upgrade right now.

Shame we have to download the whole thing, though I guess it's not a bad idea to have a complete OS installer in case it might be needed at some future date. I'd have preferred an update, though, since I'm already am at the beta 6 (or GM). That would probably have been a small file like it has been for previous updates to the beta.

Downloading from Australia store

just started downloading from the Australia store (it's 7.30am down here ;-) )

Update: Finished installing, no issues, probably a bit faster/smoother than Maverick. iCloud integration works perfectly with notability syncing between Mac and iPad.

Generally happy, just need to get used to the flat look

How do you see the speed you are downloading at from the app store?

Good question. I can tell from how long it has taken and the time remaining that it is short of using the full 50mbits/sec my connection can handle, looking like it's using about 1/2 the full speed of my connection.

I started downloading at 5:31pm EST with an estimated time of 19 minutes. Then hovered around 26mins before showing 45 mins. Backdown to 16 minutes now but I'm sure Apples servers are bouncing off rev limiter

I'm checking the network tab in activity monitor of mavericks

Its actually dropped to between 3Mbps and 9Mbps  oh well

I'm getting between 1Mbps and 6Mbps on the wired connection and around 750KB on the wifi.

I would not of thought the wifi would of been so much slower. I wonder why that is?

If they had made it available as an update the million people using the beta would only be downloading a small file. That would have taken some of the load off their servers.
