Nah I don't mess with auto-brightness. I have that turned off. I usually keep it between 95-100% brightness during the day. Then at night I manually turn it down via NCSettings to roughly 75%. Hope this helps.

I use the halogen setting for night and normal setting for day along with auto brightness on my iPhone and can easily say f.lux has become my favorite tweak over the last six months and my main reason for jailbreaking.

I no longer have headaches every morning when I wake up from straining my eyes at night from the harsh blue light coming from the phone screen =)

At first it's a little difficult to get used to the orangish color of the screen, but now there are days when I actually go into my settings to make sure f.lux has turned on because I can't even tell anymore. I wonder if it's time to set the screen warmth down a couple notches?
Thx guys makes more sense, finally found the settings and now see candle, halogen etc.. I like the halogen for right now at night some of the others are too orange for me. I tried your suggestion Bump with auto-brightness off its the night here and at 75% it just feels too bright for me. I'm getting old and my eyes are probably too sensitive, think I'll stick with auto brightness on and the 40% setting at night.:D

Hey fizz what value number do you have yours set to?

Haha me too! When I toggle it off then back on to check that its in fact working, I'm always surprised at how bright and profound the blue actually is late at night!

No kidding, I am too. I always read about this tweak and thought there's no way it would really make that big of a difference and I figured it was just a stupid tweak.

But when I started getting headaches every day for literally two months straight just from playing dice with buddies at night and getting on Facebook it was ridiculous! So I tried f.lux and fell in love with it because it saved my liver from acetaminophen overdose. So since I was skeptical, I encourage ALL skeptics to give it a shot. I don't even notice any battery drain with it. If there's any, it's so negligible. Maybe one or two percent at most?

There is really no downside to this tweak at all. Just all positives. I would be willing to pay $20 for this easily. I could live without bitesms, I could live without activator, but I think I would die from constant migraines if I had to live without f.lux lol

It's on halogen, which I believe is either 3200 or 3400?

You'll notice in the f.lux app you can actually pick the numbers, but in the settings app there are presets. I just chose halogen, but I'm pretty sure it's ~3200-3400.

Yes they do work together. It confused me a little at first.

Hope you enjoy f.lux =) I have a feeling you'll have a lot less eye strain, easier time falling asleep and fewer headaches!

Maybe if I explain what I do…

I turn OFF Auto Brightness and then adjust the slider to the lowest setting. I then turn Auto Brightness back on. Auto Brightness will then adjust to the ambient light of the room (or outside) within that low range.

You can do this at any slider setting and Auto Brightness won't go lower than the lowest setting you made. For instance, if I turn it off, then adjust the brightness slider to say 25%, then turn Auto Brightness back on, it won't adjust brightness lower than 25%. At least this is how I've noticed it to function.

This is easier for me because I'm not adjusting brightness at all - ever.

Interesting. I never thought about using auto-brightness in this light (pun intended...I know, terrible). Ill have to give this approach a shot. Thanks for sharing. Ill report back if my experience is the same/similar.

I'm going to try somewhere around maybe 25% as the lowest setting even with auto-brightness switched on after is just too dim. I hope my sensor is not jacked....the brightness does go up automatically but not a lot if it's on the lowest setting. It's too dark for me indoors, can imagine outdoors it'd be even worse.

Thanks for the tip on Candle Ey it's good for late at night. I kinna like Fluorescent if I don't want my colors too washed out but got me thinking maybe its a bit useless since it doesnt effect the screen a lot.

Yeah, it's a very interesting "feature." I don't know if it's documented, I don't know if it's just my setup, but this is they way it's been working for me. I just assumed that if it was working this way for me it worked the same for everyone else.

No problem. f.lux has several different settings because everyone is different. I prefer the lowest settings because I am often in a dark room (at work, we've removed the fluorescent overhead bulbs so we can see our computer screens better). Note that Auto Brightness seems to function in the inverse of your statement. It makes the screen brighter when there is more light so that you can see the screen and less bright when in darkness because it's assumed you can see the screen in the dark.

Rather than start a new thread, I figure I should just ask here.

I was wondering if there was a free tweak for the stock Mail app which places all my unread emails at the top of my list just below where I pull to refresh. Does such a tweak exist? Thanks for any feedback.

I'm using Mail Enhancer Pro iOS 6. It's not free ($5), but it has a lot of options (including mail rules!), one of which is an Unread mail tab. That doesn't place it up top, like you asked for, but maybe that would work for you anyway?

Here's a screen cap of the Unread tab in one of my mail boxes so you can see what I mean.

Thanks for the tip bro. I'm aware of that tweak. I assumed it had this type of feature but I never bothered to look at it closer because I have no need for any of the other features. If it were $1 or $2 I'd buy it but I'm not gonna spend $5 for one feature. Plus, like you pointed out, it doesn't exactly do what I want. Just curious, does it have any impact on the stock mail app? Does it take longer to open or does it lag at all? Just curious.

Ill take a look at some of the other mail tweaks again. I didn't see anything last time I checked. Maybe ill have better luck this time.

Thanks again for the reply. I really appreciate it!

No problem. I have noticed no impact on speed. As to the $5, well it was worth it for me just for the mail rules! I get a lot of spam I'd rather not fill my inbox. More and more I have been handline email with my iPhone (and not opening Entourage on my Mac) so this like Entourage functionality appeals to me. Anyway, hope you find something!

Can you tell me how to get the contact pictures by each email man I have mail enhancer ?
