With all due respect, what does that have to do with the price of tea in china?

Haha good one. I just saw an amazing post on 9Gag now and thought would worth sharing, hope OP won't mind.

Good to know!
I didn't download as it states it is for 5.0

I suppose this tweak and others are workable on 6.0 yet the developer doesn't state so.

Yeah, I took a shot at trying it a while back. I figured that if it caused Safe Mode I'd just uninstall it. Things are much easier now then they used to be when it comes to uninstalling stuff. And, it does work.

So funny cause this is a really popular tweak but its just one of those packages that you forget you have installed because its such a minor, lightweight tweak. But the benefits are awesome! This is the one tweak I usually mention in these threads but its always overlooked. Funny enough, last night in another thread I mentioned WebScrollian and when I saw your post, I thought to myself "hey wait a second I already mentioned this!" Haha turns out if was a different thread.

A lot of people think it only works in safari but it actually works in all UIWebViews. Therefore it's pretty much system wide improvement since that's the most common way to display all the information in an app.

What's it do that makes it much better than regular scrolling in safari? Not doubting it just curious

Instead of the stock effect where there's a lot of "friction" when doing long scrolls, WebScrollian makes it much smoother and has a longer scroll. So instead of taking 7 swipes to reach the bottom, it only takes 1.5 swipes with WebScrollian. But since its not just limited to safari but system wide UIWebViews, it works in a ton of apps.

It's nothing groundbreaking. Just makes scrolling much faster and easier. But after using it for a little while and then using a stock device, you wonder why no matter how long of a swipe you try to do, it'll only go just a little bit whereas WebScrollian most likely will reach the other end in one long swipe. Stock scrolling feels like there's a lot of "friction". That's the best way I can describe it. WebScrollian removes this and makes it more like ice you could say. Hope this helps explain the tweak better.

Nice ok just put it on iPad didn't even really notice it but that's probably a good thing, default scrolling is a bit choppy that's for sure. I'll put it on my 5 sounds good.

Bumpy got another question for you about f lux, just got it do I really have to have my Location setting on for it to work? I usually have that option off to save battery but want to try it out. I am always lowering my brightness and messing about with it at night before bed so this tweak sounds intriguing. If I have to I'll sacrifice keeping my location services on to give it a shot.

Thanks

Nope. Just turn on location services and wifi and then open the app, then tap on the map tab in the bottom right. Wait for it to ping your location, then go to the first tab and choose your settings. You can also adjust your settings in the Settings app.

The Cydia description says to have location services turned on when you install the tweak so you might as well do that too just to be safe. But once it knows your location it'll automatically turn on and off every day whether location services is turned on or not. I also keep my location services turned off for battery reasons. One of my absolute must have jailbreak tweaks no doubt about it. Heck if I could only install 1 tweak I would very possibly choose that!

Zephyr is confirmed draining.
Uninstalled it and found no noticeable gain at all. And even if it did have a little drain, it would be worth it. One of those tweaks that is a 'must have', right up there with biteSMS, Springtomize 2, and ISX.

It's nice but it's not a 'must have' hehe.
Yeah , but as we said - conflicts with other tweaks. We can't be sure.

Got it thanks Bumpy, what's a good value for the night setting? Default is 3400k

It really is tough to tell anymore unless you take fresh restores and compare a few days with and without tweaks. Some are clearly battery hogs and you'll know before the day is up.

Well no tweak is a must-have for everyone, but it is so much easier and more convenient than the double click of the home button.

Sure, true.

I use it with AutoBrightness (which I start set on the lowest setting). Works great and totally prevents eye strain.

So with f.lux brightness alll the way to a minimum and auto brightness on works well? I tried it maybe my light sensor is jacked but its too dim for use during the day

F.lux is an amazingly under-rated tweak ... and it's free!

I had f.lux in 2010 on my iPhone 4 and it had a impact on my battery life...has this problem been solved ?
I just installed it so I'm curios.

----------

Activator
Bolt
Black X App Switcher
ColoredKnob
FakeClockUp
f.lux
Flashorama
FullForce
IconRenamer
iFix Brightness for 6.x
iFile
MuteIcon
NCSettings
SafariDownloadManager
Springtomize
SubtleLcok
RespringCacheFix
Torch
Topography for Google Maps
Webscrollian
OpenSSH
3G Unrestricor

Planning to install :
biteSMS (not sure yet)
Auxo (when the tweak gets stable)
Zephyr (when the battery life problems had been solved)
Winterboard (when the app gets stable and the battery life problems had been solved)

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.2.
No lag, no crashes, normal battery life.

Yes they fixed the battery issue a while ago. Just turn on wifi and location services when you install it, then open the app and tap on the map in the bottom right so it can ping your location. After that you can turn location services off. It does not require it. It only needs it when you first set it up. Then just choose your settings and enjoy!

Well, I just start at the bottom. Auto Brightness kicks in and brings it up to an appropriate level. You can start as dim as you want and then turn on Auto Brightness. It will start from there.

I'm using Candle (the lowest setting) for night by the way. But that seems to be way to dim for others.

However, I tend to like less brightness (got used to this with my first smartphone) so less works for me. The iPhone doesn't get anywhere near as dim as my old Touch Pro. But whatever works for you.

You're welcome. I use 4200K for night.
Got it, have another question for you do you use auto-brightness w/ it? Where do you keep your brightness slider?

I'm trying to find a good medium turned auto on with the brightness as suggested to a minimum--but it's just too dark for me during the day. I think it is at work already though feel my iPad warmer and everything is just EASY on my eyes and feels good. :)

What do you mean by candle setting(don't think I see that anywhere)? I hear ya with different lighting and everybody's eyes it's to each their own. I've got it at about %40 with auto brightness on and I guess it feels good.

Nah I don't mess with auto-brightness. I have that turned off. I usually keep it between 95-100% brightness during the day. Then at night I manually turn it down via NCSettings to roughly 75%. Hope this helps.

I use the halogen setting for night and normal setting for day along with auto brightness on my iPhone and can easily say f.lux has become my favorite tweak over the last six months and my main reason for jailbreaking.

I no longer have headaches every morning when I wake up from straining my eyes at night from the harsh blue light coming from the phone screen =)

At first it's a little difficult to get used to the orangish color of the screen, but now there are days when I actually go into my settings to make sure f.lux has turned on because I can't even tell anymore. I wonder if it's time to set the screen warmth down a couple notches?

Haha me too! When I toggle it off then back on to check that its in fact working, I'm always surprised at how bright and profound the blue actually is late at night!
