I miss my ipod photo. a couple years ago, after five of them bricked, i got pissy and decided that apple was going to send me a video ipod to replace it. and it took some time, and i was polite and persistent, but they agreed to send me a video ipod. That was over two years ago (I think!) and it is still working. but i don't like it as much as the ipod photo. i hate how the top of the video ipod isn't rounded.

Oh the iPod that started it all...

3g iPod 20GB (I think it was one of the first Windows compatible iPod)

Nahh, that was the 3rd generation of Windows compatible iPods. Incidentally, my first iPod was a 1st generation iPod, with Music Match Jukebox, how I hated that.

I think the 3rd generation one was my favorite, I wish Apple had never invented the click wheel:mad:

3rd Generation, 20 GB. Works great in the car now. The battery is pretty much non working though (which is fine for the car since it's plugged in all the time!)

My 1st iPod was a 5.5G 30GB it got stolen, many precious memories with that impressive gadgets i only had it for 2 years then got stolen.:(

We're both wrong. The 3rd generation iPod was the second Windows compatible iPod. The first iPod did not work with Windows at all.

My first iPod was the 2G nano 4 GB (blue case). I sold it and got a 3G nano 8 GB (blue case). I'm seriously considering getting an 4G nano 16 GB (also blue case--if I can find one!!).

I bought a 20gb monochrome screen when the click wheel first came out but i returned it within a day (didn't like) so that doesn't count. SO, my first iPod I kept was a 4gb mini that was green I think.

From there went to a chewing gum stick Shuffle 512mb and I used the heck out of that thing!-->2gb white nano-->a black classic - maybe 80GB?-->iPhone 3g and I also have a 8gb nano chromatic for working out. the 8gb nano is by far my favorite of them all. The screen looks amazing on it.

THEE original 5GB complete with physical wheel. :D

gosh that thing is hideous!! i still really like that one that had the 4 touch sensitive buttons on it that lite up - generation 2 was it? I never owned one but I always thought it was pretty darn cool.

Mine was the first gen white Nano (1GB I think), which I bought a week before the second gen came out  so in about 5 months I upgraded to the (RED) one. I loved that thing much more than anything. Unfortunately, last summer (2008) I took it on our boat (we have this 7 meter inflatable with a steering wheel), there was a huuuuuge wave and it managed to splash my iPod which I had in a pocket in my swim pants (which supposedly should even keep money dry.. ahh marketing ) I tried everything I could from online posts to make it alive again but nothing worked. Unfortunately I didn't like the third gen Nanos (even though the ability to play videos almost made me buy it), so my mom gave me the white one I gave her as she didn't use it much anyway. Once the fourth gens came out, I immediately fell in love! It had the design of my second gen I loved together with video playback, I knew I had to buy it :p Since then I am so much in love with it, that I don't even bother using my iPhone for music (only when my iPod battery dies).
I guess when I started writing that I would just share my whole life with the iPod. I really hope Apple will not discontinue the Nanos sometime, because I cannot imagine having a different iPod. If they would by any chance do that, I will buy a couple off of eBay just in case for the future :p

For me, I started small, it was a 1GB iPod shuffle in green.

I got it in July 2007.

I've since got my MacBook Pro and an iPod touch 8GB 2nd gen.

My 1st iPod, was the touch. For me it was the first portable player that had the best & most advance & user friendly GUI. Before that I used the Creative Labs players. This then pushed me to the iPhone... :D

The colorless 4g 20gb. Got it in beginning of 7th and all the other kids were jealous :p. Best thing was I didn't have to carry around that walkman and CD case anymore!
Still have it now but it opens up to a sad ipod face :(.

1G Pod Mini in silver (4GB). Man I loved it. Back then (2004) it could hold my entire music plus podcasts. And those Minis were robust. Was kind of funny how :apple: praised the plastic Nanos at first. Took them a year and lots of harsh critic to switch back to aluminium.
