gosh that thing is hideous!! i still really like that one that had the 4 touch sensitive buttons on it that lite up - generation 2 was it? I never owned one but I always thought it was pretty darn cool.

It was 3rd generation. It's the one I have. :)

I bought a first gen iPod mini in silver, 4gb. That was one durable ipod - though towards the end the battery wasn't going longer than 15 minutes and I recycled it for a 4G nano. (which I then sold 3 weeks later after I got the iPhone). 4 years from an iPod is decent in my opinion, though probably not great?

Second Gen Mini (one of the ones with the crappy battery life). I still have it but the battery still reeks too. Thinking of getting an iPod Touch to finally replace it.

A pink mini that some low life stole. I hope s/he didn't like the music on there:p

I sort of miss it, then again I couldn't have all my music on it, since it only had 4GB to it.

I'm now replacing the battery on my ipod video (looking forward to opening it up!). hope the hard drive lives for a long time!

The FIRST iPod. Wheel-5GB (in December 2001) :D

The iPod was one the main reasons I switched to the Mac. At the time using on iPod in Windows wasn't that smooth. No iTunes. Needed to use something like MusicMatch. When I saw how seemless iTunes and the iPod on a Mac, went out and bought a PowerMac G4

Then;

iPod 3rd gen 15GB (July 2003)
iPod 4th gen 20GB (August 2005)
iPhone 1st gen 16 GB (February 2008)

Sold every iPod on eBay to help pay for the next one. ;)

For me, I started small, it was a 1GB iPod shuffle in green.

I got it in July 2007.

Dang, almost mee tooo! I got the green the end of May, 2007. I still use it regularly, but added a first generation iPhone.

My first iPod. Third generation with the Dock connector and 20GB hard drive.

I think it was the best iPod ever, I love the touch controls and it goes great with the iPod Hi-Fi.

Bought the Touch and love it! Just wish some of the apps didn't require wifi to operate.

4th gen Gen 20GB U2 Special edition

than

5th gen 30GB U2 video Special Edition

now (as of 2 weeks ago)

6th gen 120GB Black iPod Classic

My First iPod was 20GB 4th generation iPod, I got it January 2005. Second was 1GB iPod nano in 2006. Now I have 16GB iPod touch, got it about a year ago.

My first mp3 player was a 256MB RCA Lyra.
I then upgraded to a SanDisk Sansa E-260 or something like that. I attempted to use it for a week or so. But adding playlists was nearly impossible.

So, I started looking into the Creative Zen and the iPod Video 5.5G.
In the end, I bought my first iPod--the iPod Video 5.5 (30 GB). I have never looked back. I love the way syncing with iTunes works.

Anyways, after getting my iPod, and seeing how easy it was to work, I began to look into getting a Mac. When Leopord came out, I bought my first Mac (MacBook). I love it. Now, I am addicted to buying apple products

I purchased an iPod Touch 2G on release day, and recently an iPod Shuffle.

1g iPod Nano black; then 5g white video ipod; then 1g iPod touch; then 4g iPod Nano black

First was ipod nano 3rd generation when it came out. I killed it with my mighty sweaty hands. Should've bought an arm band instead of holding it on my hands when running.

Decided to wait for the 2G iPod touch before purchasing another. I got it and missed the 'click-wheel' soo much, that I decided to sell it on e-bay. I got another 3G nano refurbished and also a new shuffle for running/exercise.

5th Generation iPod Video 30 gig.

Ancient, I know.

Me, too, exactly the same. Early 2006. The first two I had died within a few months, in warranty - and were replaced without a murmur, which is one of the reasons I switched to Mac. The third 30 GB is still running well, though showing its age a little.

Cheers

iPod 5th generation 30GB. then i fell out of our boat with it in my pocket and it drowned. then i got the iPod Touch 1st generation 8GB and thats what i have now. i'm thinking about getting a new one in September.

Mine was the iPod Photo.....20GB. I loved it until I got my iPod touch....now my husband uses it! :D

Original 5GB wheel iPod which still runs.

I also have a copy of literally every single generation of iPod, mini, nano, shuffle and Touch since and all are still in working order. I think I may need to photograph them all together at some point!
