The tools are what you make of them, not the other way around. The forum is full of examples where this generalisation is proven wrong.
macOS. Otherwise iPad is basically still a toy.
I have a 12.9” iPad Pro. The screen makes it great for browsing and media consumption, but it’s a bit heavier to hold, definitely needs two hands, and typing while holding it is a bit error-prone. Very useable on the couch.
I mean, every iPad upgrade basically follows the same formula with the new one being a faster version of the old one; sometimes with a new shape, sometimes with a new color, and sometimes with a new screen. The 2021 one will faster with a new screen.macOS. Otherwise iPad is basically still a toy. Can’t see upgrading. Rumors don’t bode well. Looks like more of the same.
That would be strange and probably hike up the price of the iPad.Hey, why not both?
It was only a generation ago that a 12" TV weighed about 30 pounds, and people put them on carts to push them from room to room. And they only got 5 channels of analog TV broadcast in real time.you should buy a TV , u dont think 14 or 15 inch ipad is like carrying a whole tv
Very useable on the couch-- I have both sizes, and the 12.9 gets a lot more use. 11 is used for sidecar to my Mac mini (while drawing on the 12.9 during teaching), for when actually lying down in bed (propped up on pillows I still go for 12.9), or if I want something small to throw in my purse to wait at a doctor's office. When traveling, I Zoom on the 11 and have reference documents open on the 12.9.bought an iPad Air 2 weeks ago, and love it.
im thinking of swapping it for an iPad Pro. because im using the device way more the I thought I would do.
Im in doubt if I should get the 12? is it useable at the couch? or more for the desk with the magic keyboard?
Yeah I get unintended touches constantly. Like I’ll be watching YouTube and a video randomly opens from the right side. Or I’ll be in full screen in Netflix and the buttons to pause and rewind randomly come up (same for any tv app). Or when I play Minecraft my tools randomly swing. Idk what is wrong with the display but I don’t want to pay out of pocket for a fix... might just be more worth it to get the new iPad Pro... if it supports my 2nd gen pencil... argh. What’s a ghost touch if I may ask? Something like an unintended input on the screen?
Yeah, larger size, like 15”, would probably be the only thing that would hook me in, as I use it mostly for art.It was only a generation ago that a 12" TV weighed about 30 pounds, and people put them on carts to push them from room to room. You can purchase a 17" laptop that only weighs 3 pounds. If an iPad is 2/3 the weight of a laptop, that's 2 pounds. Yeah, it's a bit heavy for a tablet, but it's only a few ounces more than the current 12.9". It's probably a niche market, but I could see combining this with a bluetooth speaker/headphones for a second media center/workstation in a small apartment or when traveling.
Absolutely not. I don't want a TV, a TV is static, I want something I can move around with 1 hand. And a TV works only for videos and in landscape mode...you should buy a TV , u dont think 14 or 15 inch ipad is like carrying a whole tv
Completely agree! My 2017 10.5 has a useless battery life now (maybe 3-4hours video watching).2017 10.5. Screen has cracks (but works great), battery doesn’t last as long (3-4 hours on actual illustration work), charging isn’t always reliable.
It had a good run. It is time for an upgrade. Depending on availability I am hoping for the 12.9, I might settle for an 11 if the ram is the same and immediately available.
(That said, I just told a friend on a budget to look for a second hand 2020 Air.)
I have a 2020 11” iPad Pro.Question for each man of culture or woman of culture here in the forums. If you already own a 2018 or 2020 IPad Pro, what would make you buy a new iPad Pro in 2021 ?
