Enjoy your steak (served with chips? A salad, or vegetables?) and beer. And enjoy the rest of your evening.

Steak, chips and beer - as long as they are good - can be utterly brilliant.

I don't have them often, but, as an occasional treat, they cannot be surpassed.
I’m a little embarrassed to say it didn’t really touch the sides. Lunch was early due to the flight. So I’ve not had a drink since 2:30 even.

Steak was fine. I’ve had better. I’ve had worse. Chunky chips, mushrooms and salad accompanied.

I'm considering buying either a very old (486?) laptop with WfW 3.11 or a newer, but equally weak (= cheap) laptop to run 9front on. Background: On long train journeys I sometimes want to write blog or other posts, and 1) writing long prose on a smartphone is no fun, 2) my MacBook would distract me unnecessarily with notifications and all sorts of software. Windows 3.11 and 9front don't have this problem, I could just write away without being distracted.

(Haiku is also out of the question for a similar reason).

I would actually like to do something with both operating systems again, but 9front would probably be more practical. At least it supports USB sticks without a complicated adapter setup. I'm still thinking hard about it.

Ah, okay.

Fair enough - that means that you (one) would be pretty peckish by evening.

Ouch - not even water, or tea?

Not nice in high summer.

Yum.

Chunky chips, mushrooms and salad with steak (the only thing that could improve that would be sautéed onions, and proper Parisian cracked pepper sauce served with the steak) sounds divine.

Just finished a full day of teaching--I love it but I always forget how tiring it is. My arms and fingers are sore from conducting and snapping since 9:00 this morning. Now is about the point where I'd take a nap, but I need to cook dinner. At this point, I'll just stick it out until bedtime, but I am really tired.

I miss beer, but I can't believe it's been almost a whole month since I've cracked open a cold one.

Enjoy. Your first Mac? I thought you were an Apple fan since you were 6 or something?
Thanks man. I was an Apple fan since 2014, but I started with the iPad mini around when I was 7 years old. All I mostly used for computers were Windows machines and ChromeBooks. I'm getting my new MacBook Pro tomorrow, and it will be my first Mac computer. I’m picking it up at the store through click and collect.
Congrats on your first Mac. I remember mine :)
yooooo thank you! I am glad to join these millions of :apple: users with Macs. What Mac did you own as your first one?

I didn't know that TenFourFoxPEP would actually work on Camino. This is incredible because I remembered always wanting to try out Camino but not having access to it until it was an already long-dead project.

I go months at a time without any alcohol. Not a decision. Just I don’t drink at home or go out much. I had one last night as I was away on business. I think I have another night out for work at the end of the month, then won’t be drinking until October probably. My younger self would be horrified.

When I was 7 I’m not sure Apple (or Apple Macintosh as it was), had been started.
My first computer was a Commodore Vic 20. Didn’t do much. I wasn’t all that interested in learning back then. Would rather be out playing with my friends

I'm not old enough to drink in the U.S., so I don't. Even when I turn 21, I doubt I will.

The climate law has come into effect in Turkey. Those who do not comply will be fined record amounts. Our people will put their Tofaş, Honda Civic, Opel Corsa, 90 Model Mercedes, F10 BMWs with software on the road and pollute the environment as much as they can by making them emit black smoke. I will also take my 2005 model Iveco truck out of the garage, I have not taken it to the inspection for 4 years. It emits black smoke. No to the evil plan, yes to cars emitting black smoke

What a strange idea. Oh well. I’ll not be paying for the increased healthcare in your country or the rising sea levels in the low lying islands. But as long as you are happy that’s the main thing.

Here I’m at Edinburgh Airport for the next few hours.
Safe travels.

Are you flying home from Edinburgh?

I remember the excellent selection of shortbread in Edinburgh Airport - I am rather partial to it, while Decent Brother loves the stuff - it is wonderful in winter with a cup of tea or coffee.
Hoping to find somewhere quiet to work.
Good luck.
Fat chance. It’s rammed here.
Well, it is high summer, the holiday and tourist season, after all.

Yes Edinburgh. It’s very busy. I’ll resist the shortbread. I really need a good session with the chiropractor. Too much sitting around of carrying/pulling bags around airports for my liking. Still a lot of time to kill. Trying to do a bit of work. But one 13” screen is no substitute for 2 x 27” screens for efficiency of posture.

Ready for home. I have an hours drive from the airport when I land as well.

Safe travels; I seem to recall that you mentioned that you might have to travel to Glasgow, as well.

Anyway, I like Edinburgh, a wonderfully atmospheric (and, in places, quite beautiful) city.

I hear you re needing, or wishing for, a good session with the chiropractor; personally, I'd almost kill for a really good back and shoulder massage.
