On a whim, I decided to take an online introductory course to machine learning. I am now confronted by just how much math(s) I've forgotten since completing secondary education.

Did you know your great grandparents? One of mine was around until I was 15. He had lots of interesting stories. Mostly involving planes he had owned and crashed in his youth!

No, I didn't.

My parents were each the youngest - by a few years - in their respective families, and remember, families were somewhat larger in number then; my mother's granny - her mother's mother - died very young, when her own family were still children - but she remembered her grandfather as an elderly (but sprightly and alert) man who died the she was 10.

The great-grandparents on the other side, I don't know much about, but my aunt, aged 92 (who joined us for a short while today, and is as sharp as a tack) might have some information on the topic.

I have mastered the perfect hash brown.
I have fought the hash brown and emerged victorious!
Is Rome not entertained?!
This Rome is... awaiting samples of the conquered beast. :p

That’s awesome.

Tomorrow's post: "The bacon has mastered me. A grease fire erupted and singed off my eyebrows. I now look like a Karadathwhatever."
:p Dare I ask?

:p Dare I ask?
We had some friends over and they announced some good news about their oldest and me being me questioned what they said which resulted in a sharp kick under the table. My memory of their oldest left me with the impression he had a potato for a brain.

Experiencing wicked heartburn because I decided to eat a plethora of roasted peppers for dinner with cheese and bread. I should know better at this point in life.

Pâté does that to me.

Now, I should know better, too, but I still succumb to the temptation - the siren lure style of temptation - of pâté whenever I am offered good quality pâté.

I just returned from a get together with a group of friends where we all just kind of remembered and talked about an important member of our little group who died shortly before new years eve. While he wasn't necessarily the glue that kept us all together in one way or another, as it stands life does feel a whole lot emptier without him around. Dude always had a good outlook on life, and I know for a fact that this planet will be a little bit worse off without him on it.

I can't really put into words the level of bad I feel for always lusting after his record collection. When I told him "I'd gladly take them off his hands" I didn't mean I'd want to rent a storage unit to house the collection he took many years to cultivate because I had no other place to put them. But as it stands, I also couldn't imagine a greater gift than for him to leave the collection to me.

Had to look that one up on Google! Yep, you are quite right that it is on each and every one of us to do our own part in order to establish a comfortable living for ourselves and our families.....

Didn't realize we were getting close to the Chinese New Year, but I guess that time is drawing near..... So what will 2019 be the Year of.... ?

OK, had another run at Google and found out that the Chinese New Year is February 5th, so indeed coming up soon! Also learned that this, 2019, will be the Year of the Pig.

There are a couple of Chinese restaurants not too far from me which specialize in serving Peking Duck..... They are always busy, no matter what time of the year!
Note to self. Don’t read posts about Chinese food when it’s 4 am and you are hungry!

Now I’m thinking about crispy aromatic duck.
Yum!

2 hours until porridge time. Doesn’t quite have the same appeal, but a good way to start the day, especially in winter.

I think I had a bit too much wine over dinner. Misread your post and was wondering if you'd really just posted that.

Is this post about your friend who passed away, or your longing for his record collection?

And was the friendship of such a nature - were you always there for him - that you may have merited the belated bestowal of such a gift?

Good ethnic restaurants will always be busy, but reading about Peking Duck makes me hungry, too.

Talking to the supervisor on my afternoon job sbout training me in certain tasks or not. I have to mention the errors made yesterday, because they’re in the wild for all to see and it makes the department look bad. It happens and Ihave no problem taking the hit and emailing apologies to the folks whose requests got slightly mangled

I successfully pushed this aside last night, and am trying to let go of being upset about it this morning. It is obvious the reference manager is not fond of me -which is fine- since I do not answer to her.

It’s just that annoyance at myself that is most frustrating.

Anyway, it will be resolved just fine.
