Christmastime, mid 50s in Buffalo NY. Not a drop of snow.
I am going to guess that is quite unusual.

WHAT?!?!?!?!Christmastime, mid 50s in Buffalo NY. Not a drop of snow.

I must say that I rather like @Herdfan's response, and also note the reply from @rm5, who does appear to have some knowledge of the subject matter under discussion.Christmastime, mid 50s in Buffalo NY. Not a drop of snow.

In any case, as I am not from the US, I can seek refuge in the sanctuary of not knowing any of this stuff.
However, having said that, @Rafterman, are you pleased (or not) with the absence of (expected) snow in expected quantities?
Very good (possible global warming, notwithstanding).Pleased.
Likewise, in our windswept wet isles.Late October to April is cold and crappy.
I hear you.Six months of the year, we freeze our butts off. Sort of like Scotland, but with more snow.
A quiet (and preferably, empty) office is - well, if not close to heaven - is, at the very least, somewhat approaching my ideal situation whenever I have had to do any preparation, and/or thinking, planning and serious report writing. Solitude and silence work very well in such circumstances. It’s been unusually warm for December here too. I think we’ve had 1-2 mild frosts. Temperatures have barely dropped to single digits.
Global warming is definitely on my mind
Here I’m awake 30 minutes before my alarm. In the office today. At least it will be quiet. Like very quiet. I have some preparation to do for a meeting, then some project work to do.
The drive to work was particularly unpleasant. Not as bad as Mrs AFB one where her drivers side wiper decided against wiping. The appalling weather outside today. High winds, heavy rain and generally awful for a fourth day in a row. I have to go out later and pick up an air fryer I bought and get some bits from the supermarket and can’t think of anything worse.
Appalling. The appalling weather outside today. High winds, heavy rain and generally awful for a fourth day in a row.
I'm postponing any such trips until the weather eases; I need to get a diary (paper) for the coming year, but shall attend to that later in the week.I have to go out later and pick up an air fryer I bought and get some bits from the supermarket and can’t think of anything worse.
I can well imagine. The drive to work was particularly unpleasant.
Ouch. Not as bad as Mrs AFB one where her drivers side wiper decided against wiping.
I’ll look at it at the weekend and see what’s what.Appalling.
When I put out the bins last night (as instructed by text), I was worried about the winds, less so the lashing rain.
Anyway, the bins have been emptied, and all have been returned to their respective niches.

It was awful this morning.
Ouch.
Hope she can have it repaired easily.
Did it ever get light? Not here. Just ready for my swim home.Ugh.
Lights already on by 3.30 (15.30).
No, not really.Did it ever get light? Not here. Just ready for my swim home.
To be fair it’s been a very mild December. No, not really.
Just a few, very few, brief, fleeting glimpses of light.
Those ominous threatening charcoal coloured clouds, - the sort that are full of frozen water - instead appeared. And it just got darker and darker.
This is true, and I am not one bit sorry. To be fair it’s been a very mild December.
Good that you arrived back safely.Journey home was better in terms of rain. However slow M5 due to a load of clothes on the motorway. A couple of miles later and a car pulled over with a policeman helping to secure (a presumably) now empty roof box.
Good; that means the best part of a week, doesn't it?Anyway I’m home and won’t be venturing out in the car until whatever day I’m in the office next week.
Earliest I’ll be in is Tuesday. But I’ll probably defer the trip until Wednesday or Thursday. This is true, and I am not one bit sorry.
I loathe the cold.
Yes, I also cannot abide the wet and not just the bleak darkness, but the abysmally poor quality of light.
Good that you arrived back safely.

That sounds as though it is a good idea, thus, a break of a decent duration.Earliest I’ll be in is Tuesday. But I’ll probably defer the trip until Wednesday or Thursday.
