I saw MobileRSS mentioned in another thread today and installed it. Nice app that integrates will with Google Reader.

I'm really happy with Byline. Syncs are quick and navigation is intuitive. Newsstand looks interesting, but I don't have any compelling reasons to switch from Byline.

ok i think u guys mentioned byline and newsstand as the best out of alot of them.

they cost 4.99

as a step down from that price for those between 0.99 - 2.99 are there good google reader syncing rss readers?

[app]MobileRSS[/app] was free yesterday... now it cost $2.99. It works the same as Byline... But Newsstand is just a different animal and better.

I like Newsstand but it has a bug with unread counts. Old articles come back as unread so the unread count does not stay in sync with google reader. Very annoying. I even tried completely deleting and installing new 2.1 version. Same problem. I emailed the developer but never got a reply. Any other Newsstand users seen this same problem?

Mobile RSS seems to stay in sync and is faster (because it doesn't load all articles every sync). So right now it is my preferred reader.

Wow! I just downloaded Byline and must say that I am very impressed! Thanks for the recommendation!

I have tried Newsstand since my last post and have been using it instead of Byline since. Though Byline seems to refresh much faster than Newsstand, the latter had a very crucial function for me: "Mark all as read".
Does Byline have "Mark all as read"? I can't seem to find it.

I have both Byline and Newsstand.

After Newsstand's recent update, it became my number one, with Byline a close second.

MobileRSS is not too bad either, if you wait for its pricing cycle, it can be free.

I finally took the plunge and bought Newsstand. No regrets whatsoever. It's purr-fekt! Thank you, guys, for your feedback! :)

Glad to hear you're satisfied with your purchase. Thanks to the feedback from this thread, I was also able to discover Newsstand and am very happy with it.

Yes it does. If you go inside a feed, scroll to the bottom and it is there. I like Newsstand but feel the newspaper view is gimmicky. Byline is fast, streamlined and minimal. The only thing missing is Instapaper support which developer says he is adding in a future update. I actually prefer to read my RSS through Byline than on my desktop.

I have been using Netnewswire off of Newsgator for the past month and really liked it.

It has everything that i need, downloads them, syncs my clippings online, and is free.

Don't get too attached to it... they are phasing out their own online syncing and moving to Google Reader online sync within the next couple weeks. The desktop client beta already does Google Reader sync. I am using the NNW desktop beta with MobileRSS on the iPhone and this combo works well for me.

Read the NNW forums for more info.

iNews - I've switched between FEEDS, Byline and Newsstand so many times but I always come back to using iNews for it's amazing speed. It has ReadItLater & Instapaper support and just about every feature I could ask for.

I always find Byline, Newsstand and Feeds okay to use for a short period of time but then find I just get my RSS feeds read so much faster with iNews.

The developer always responds to emails with suggestions as well.

The KILLER feature for me is when I want to read the FULL article, just hit the "Mobile" button and it loads the much faster Google Mobile version of the article rather than wait for the full blown web page to load. Why the other RSS apps don't make more use of Google Mobile I have no idea.

iNews v2.1 just released - now with full 2-way Google sync!

New Features:
- Google reader full synchronization
- Share google article
- Share to Del.icio.us
- Save downloaded images to photo album
- Alltop.com list and OPML import
- Additional instant news UK website
- Theme option

Seriously, I've tried them all and each one I always find is missing some nice feature that another RSS app has got - iNews does everything you could ever want now that it has full google sync.
