Okay, so since DarkNetworks isn't a n00b troll, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But this is like pulling teeth.

Ahem.

Do you mean that you want to make sure a computer no longer has residual traces of your information, but you don't want to keep it anymore? If so, pulling the hard drive out and keeping it should be sufficient. Can't you find something else to do with the drive? Or else just throw it in a drawer in case you ever want it?

If not, you can take that hard drive and write random numbers over it repeated times (I believe either Disk Utility, if it's not the main system disk, or your system install discs will allow you to do this), or else, I suppose you can get a powerful magnet and run it around the disc, although the former way is probably more reliable than the latter.

But the rest of the computer doesn't hold anything with respect to your identity or information, except for the openfirmware password, if you've set it...which, even if you did, it is just the p/w itself, which is only valuable if you use the same p/w elsewhere, but no other information about you is stored anywhere on the computer except the HD. If you did set the OF p/w, just clear it. Not that it's tremendously likely that someone will find the computer, hack the OF, extract your OF password, and then use it to hack other systems that house your data.

Because if we give you idea when we don't know what you will do with then, we may be contributing to an evil wrongdoing!!!!!

Place in computer and hold the c key when booting up. The cheese will download onto your hard drive and destroy the data (because it doesn't like nachos), then the logic board will fry.

just start pulling random pins, capacitors, etc. off the motherboard. if the reason is so youre parents will buy a new one, they're probably not technically minded enough to notice missing motherboard parts.
