I found the perfect solution. I was reading Macworld and came across this article in the October 2005 issue:
But DarkNetworks doesn't want to erase the HD, he want's it to die permanently. How about 2 mins in a microwave? somebody else's for preferences

In his or her original post, he or she asks how do destroy his or her motherboard and/or Macintosh HD. Erasing it would be like destroying it, now wouldn't it be?
And I'm also curious to see why DarkNetworks wishes to do so.

Anyone else find this totally irresponsible, and appalling? If you have a computer that works, use it and be thankful. If you want a new one, don't con the system, save for a new one. Don't be greedy.
Now if your trying to harm someone else's computer because They are a SOB, are your some kind of government agent who has to destroy secret info without it being detected, then by all means go ahead. However I would hope if the later was the case, you would already know how to do this.

I'm making this clear, i'm not doing any harm to anyone's computer whatsoever nor breaking the laws. I'm doing this to my laptop and i don't think that will cause any damage to whoever...

This sounds good but will there be any type of damage to the thing physically? I don't want my display to get hurt whatsoever. Or u mean i remove the HD solely and put it into the microwave? how do u come about doing that? i don't have any special screws to open the iBook's screw...

Magnetics would be the best option. Build a giant electromagnet around the laptop and turn it on for a day or two. or the emp could work as well. Just rig up a handy electrical transformer to short out and explode, with the laptop nearby and the resulting emp should do a lot of damage, (other options for emp creation include detonation of a small thermonuclear device, but lets face it not everyone has one of those just lying around now do they )

Hello all - this is indeed a hilarious thread. i found this site on a search, trying to figure out what my stepson might be up to. He is on his third or fourth ipod. i suppose i shouldn't be concerned, as it's his mom who keeps getting him new ones, i think under the warranty. But it is starting to seem suspicious to me. i don't have all the facts, but it seems that one thing or another goes wrong, like this last time, his ipod would not download songs. So his mom takes him back to the Apple Store, and he ends up with a new, better one.
If this happened once, or twice even, i guess it's not unreasonable. But i am thinking that maybe he is doing something to his ipod in an attempt to get the newest and best. He's in high school, so having the latest gadget is a big deal.
Would this magnet thing be something he could do to his ipod to damage one of the functions, like downloading songs? How would a teenager get information like this? i would like to get to the bottom of this.

well to destroy the iPods HD you can use a magnet.
