LOL!!!

I don't get your point of destroying your hard disk. Why don't you just unplug your computer and drop it from a four story building...

Hey, DarkNetworks, If this is just so your parents can buy you a new computer, don't destroy it. I thought about it, but in the end I kept repeating "Will you get me a G5 dad?" JK, but what I did was I paid for half of it, it's easy if you do odd chores and finally they'll give up.

I don't know if this would completely whipe your info, but do a software restore. i did that a few times on my G3 for fun and nothing ever came back.

Ohh.. destroying so you can get a new one from AppleCare?

I totally wanted to do that 3 or 4 days before my iPod was de-warrantied.

VERY strong magnets for about 2 hours should do it. Since nothing physical has happened to it, they can't "ZOMG! you ahve a .0000001 CM scratch! user damaged!!1`!!" because it's all internal.

I put way too much thought into it.

By the time I was done thinking, the warranty had up and died on me.

I'LL GET YOU ONE DAY!!

This all sounds kind of mysterious. I'm not trying to be nosy, but this all sounds kind of suspicious. Please just say why you want to ruin your iBook. We won't tell anyone, I promise. I'm just wondering what is going on because you seem to avoid every question we have about what the purpose of this is.

Well, I guess no one wants to be caught with an out of date computer. But it could be worse... you could have *this* one:

Haha...what were they thinking? I used to be an engineer, and even I can't fathom why in the world that computer has a giant chrome wheel on the side. ;) :D

I'd just like to say - whilst openly admitting that I am adding nothing useful to the topic - that this is the funniest thread I've read in weeks! :D :D There really are some inventive ways to "damage" your computer.

There are lots of good ways to destroy computing equipment, but most of the best ones involve a vacant lot, baseball bats, slow motion video camera footage, a couple of your best friends, and that Geto Boys song with the "back up in your *** with the resurrection" lyrics. :D

I've been told by a computer guy when my PC laptop HD took a dive and wasn't worth anything anymore is that a good ol' 357 magnum though the center generates a really pretty flower...

heh.
