I hate it that people always go through my phone (apps, photos, safari bookmarks) as soon as I leave my phone unattended on the counter, but I refuse to put a passcode because this is my phone, I shouldn't have to.

so to teach people a lesson for decided to go through my phone, I let them go through it on purpose and when they happen to come across some stuff they might find offensive (photos, videos), i tell them "yup, thats my phone and you chose to browse it, next time leave it alone."

I'm not easily embarrassed and I tend to be very open about my life, but it does bother me that I can't even let my phone charge without having someone pick it up and go "what cool things do you have on it now", "any new photos?"

Working for a university, I help students configure their computers and iPhones for various things all the time. If I had a dime for every naughty picture I saw...

I have a pic of my girlfriend in just her underwear and topless from behind with her looking over her shoulder. Its the sexiest damn thing in the world, i made it black and white so the average joe would just think i got it off the net but i had the phone on her coffee table at her parents. I get a text message and bam the screen lights up right in front of her mom and she could totally tell it was her daughter. effin awesome.

aside from that I've had iphone porn in the google search bar and my girlfriend went to search for something and saw that there.

I try my best to keep innapropriate pics off my phone, just dump them into iPhoto as soon as possible.

Nobody touches the phone period, (other than my wife). Pass lock these things. Also if it gets lost it will get wiped using MobileMe.

Lucky you have a girlfriend like that! :D

Didn't the SMS arrival notification hide most of the wallpaper, though?

also somebody surfed and saved an image from safari of old granny stuff in my photos , it was hilarious yet quite disgusting

I have a good one.

Last Christmas I was at a family thing with my girlfriends family. My girlfriend has a younger sister, only a couple years younger and she claims to be this saint that never does anything she shouldn't. Anyway, my girlfriends sister asks if I can take a picture of her with my girlfriend and their mom with her iPhone ... So I grab it and am framing the picture when a text pops up, "The best part of last night was when you were dripping all over me while you were riding me". I know I got a little shocked look on my face ... I snapped the picture and then I said "Hey ... You got a text" as I handed the phone back. I just walked away and looked at her from across the room ... the look on her face was priceless when she looked at the text.

Later she comes up to me and "nonchalantly" strikes up a conversation about how her friend likes to send texts that sound dirty to his friends even-though they aren't true ... I just said laughed and walked away.

Not quite what you're asking but related: when I first got the phone and tried to bluetooth a song to my friend, only to find out that the amazing iPhone can't do that!

nothing emberrassing as to what others have experienced maybe when i had beautymeter on my phone my brother inlaw found it started bugging me about it, thats it.

but i dont give a flying rats butt what people think, so im in the clear, as for songs im all about having obviously dumb songs on my phone just so i can blare them at red lights and such.

My little brother (14) reading all my intimate text messages with my gf.... Wow there was a lot of them... Damn. His phone was damages and he asked me if he can borrow my phone because his little friend was going to send him a picture... I unblocked the phone and gave it to him... Sigh

Another tip: Disable SMS Preview.

Nothing more embarrassing than getting that afternoon text message from your girlfriend while your coworker is looking up something in google maps. ;)

And there's not much worse than getting that afternoon text message from your girlfriend while your wife is looking up something in google maps.

Thanks for the stories! I just turned the preview off for SMS and AIM. Personally, I haven't had anything happen to me yet. I'll probably have a video...ahem...of me and the g/f soon, but it definately won't be long before it gets moved to my much safer computer :)

I was clearly furious and offended by their comments. That's why I posted such a threatening message. lol

And why would I want to lighten up any, I've worked hard to get this nice base tan.

Probably when I initially got my first gen and didn't realize that it synced my entire iphoto library. I was showing my boss my new iphone and how to flip through photos. The 3rd one she saw was completely embarrassing.

I was at work, sitting at the desk. One of my employees needed help, so I got up, and accidentally left the iPhone face up on the desk. While I was away, my boss sat at the desk.

A text popped up from my girlfriend (who also worked there [we're still together, but I since got a new job ]) It said something to the effect of "I wish you were laying in bed right now and I was on top riding you with my..." (you can fill in the rest). My boss comes up to me and says "You may not want to leave your phone laying around like this. You got a very descriptive text from Kim".

He's a born again christian. FML

lol

This is the most embarrassing story so far.

That's what you get for cheating on your wife.
