this has probably been discussed before and sorry if it has.. i have been reading and watching a lot of things about the new iPhones and the one consistent thing i am seeing are android fans not just hating on apple but abusing people who buy apple products.

i don't get it. why are they so aggressive and hateful? i never see apple fans acting like this when a new android product comes out..

it's not even just online i work in a mobile phone retailer and i get customers who come in for android.. i suggest apple and they reply with things like "only idiots buy apple product"

over the last 5 years i have had 7 different phones.. mostly all android but after having various problems with them or just getting bored last year i made the switch to apple and i have to say i love it. it works with no issues. battery life if great, camera is great.. sorry for the little rant it's just been winding me up seeing all this negativity and personal attacks on every piece of content aimed at apple products

I'm an android fan but do not hate apple or it's users.

I have had an iphone 6s+ just was not for me in end.
both OS has good and bad bits.

I work in IT trade and get similar reactions from windows or osx users.
But after windows 10 seeing more windows users turn to mac or linux though.

I personally prefer android on my phone, but as for tablet, either is fine for me.

I find this false. Generally speaking I don't think either will admit it, but Apple and Android extremist are typically one in the same.

The company they support can do no wrong and the opposite company is trash.

I'm an Apple fan and to be honest some of the Apple apologist here annoy me.

I think one thing we can all agree on though is no one here would go back to Windows phone lol

The only reason I use an iPhone these days is due to the demise of Windows Phone, it was lightweight, fast and the Lumia hardware (before Microsoft branding) was very well built.

Was a much better OS than any of the Android builds, still is.

I used Android phones exclusively between 2008 (T-Mobile G1) and 2014 (HTC One M8), until I finally got tired of Android and got the iPhone 6 when it came out. My experience has been similar to OP's - to me, iOS is far superior to Android.

I never understood it either. I would never go to an Android forum just to badmouth their platform or argue every point they are making in favor of iOS. They must have some weird inferiority complex or always feel like they need to justify their platform decision, when in reality it doesn't matter at all. It's an OS preference, use what you like.

Some people just feel the need to be right and have their purchases validated.

Edit: Not exclusive to Android users. Plenty of Apple users have the same vibe.

Not true. I would.

I came to iPhone from Windows Mobile. Get a decent high-end phone on WinMo and I'd buy it.

I also know another user here whose phone is WinMo.

I just go for the best phone for myself. I currently have a Galaxy S8 and an Iphone 7. Both are great. I have a wireless charging receiver that fits between the back and the case for the Iphone 7. In all reality, I feel the S8 is a much better phone. I will turn in my 7 and order an X to get parity.

Same thing that is wrong with some Apple fans. Some people prefer iOS and some people prefer Android and I don't know why people fight. It's a subjective decision so fighting/arguing over it is pointless.

Only childish types will look down on someone because of the type of smartphone you use. I think sometimes people respond to marketing efforts, which always strive to tie in a person's identity with the products you buy. This tends to work on people who are overly concerned about what others think and their appearance in my opinion.

This tale is as old as time. What you like is the obvious superior choice and anybody who chooses differently is clearly not seeing the light.

It's also as old as this forum (probably; I've only been here since '08 but that's still a long time). I remember back in the early days of Android the excuse around here was that only mature humans can afford iPhones so those that can't (the chilluns) default to Android, hence their immature behavior.

Nowadays, I know several people who have the same reasons for staying with Android/Google as those of us that stay with Apple: investment in the ecosystem. My sister and her husband are a perfect example. The rest of the family are all iOS and we love Facetime and group iMessage but I don't think we'll ever get them to switch.

I've been using iPhone since the beginning and have bought every model except the 4s. I have also dipped my toes in the Android pool several times over the years and only recently enjoyed a phone enough to consider abandoning iOS (Pixel). Fortunately my wife was more than happy to talk me out of it.

some people just can't accept that not everyone likes the same things.

that's pretty much it.

Maybe it does go both ways I guess. I just find it insane that they are not just attacking the product but attacking the people who buy it also. Guess that's that then really

Every time I see a android or iOS specific release article on a website that has comments or on Facebook it's probably 90% the 2 sides being nothing but hateful towards each other. The comments aren't even remotely about the article, they just take the chance to be a tough guy behind a screen. It's just as bad as politics, and worse than rival sports team fans. My favorites are the ones about the latest Android Malware and about any new iOS devices though out the year. Some real crazies come out of the woodwork for those articles.

Edit: Go read some of the latest iPhone or Mac release articles right here on MR. Majority of comments are anti-apple and speak negatively of anyone who buys the product.

I use and enjoy Android and iOS (along with MacOS, Windows and Linux) so never understand these arguments, but the hateful comments definitely come flying in from all sides and they can get pretty personal no matter who's throwing them!

Personally, I really enjoy the diversity of different platforms and definitely wouldn't want to tie myself into a single one :)

It swings both ways. My life has become significantly easier since I stopped replying to them and started just hitting the Ignore button for anyone who argues in that way lol.

I love both for their own offerings, whichever can offer up the experience im looking for is who gets my money. I hope they keep the competition strong, gives us better products

Problem is some people need to justify their purchase and what they have is the best and if you don’t then you are wrong. It’s odd.

I have all apple products but do enjoy android and what it offers. Just like some apple fans have an opinion on android based on what others have told them or when they tried android which was 3-4 years ago. So because android was back then they still think it’s still the same when that isn’t the case.
