I use a MBP at work and occasionally get similar ‘hate’ from some Windows users. I noticed in instructions from IT they’ll describe every little setup step in detail so it looks like there are more steps on MacOS to do the same thing as Windows when in fact it’s easier on a Mac. IT pushes Mac users to use Microsoft software, like Outlook instead of Mail. I’ve also seen dire warnings like emails warning don’t upgrade to the latest MacOS as it won’t work with X (i.e., VPN software) meanwhile I had already started using said release with X with no problems.

That's not really hate so much as resentment for being forced to accommodate a small percentage of users. <---read the nerd version of office politics ;)

When I was the one Mac guy at work I had to deal with this a bit but after a couple years I convinced them if they'd leave me and my computer alone they'd never hear from me, it'd be like I didn't exist, the ghost user.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I find myself very fortunate. I can both praise and complain about iPhone/Android as I'm incredibly immersed in both.

Right now I'm finding that iOS 11 has caused me a lot of trouble. The Intel modem has given me a real headache.

However, I still find that bloatware can be overwhelming on Android that isn't vanilla. Rooting has become quite a bit more difficult with these locked bootloaders and security features such as Knox.

For now, my next device will be an Android but I won't rule out a future iPhone.

I started as a fangirl for Android but after trying iPhone, BlackBerry and a Windows phone, I think I have just learned to enjoy the different experiences.

I think bashing another OS without trying them is naive. I'm glad I was able to move past that and enjoy all technology at least once.

Yeap, used Windows, Symbian both touch and none touch, feature phones, Android, iOS over the years..
All have strong and bad points, will moan about the bad points but keep using them anyway.

Having moved back to android, I have to admit I feel a bit overwhelmed. Holy settings and customization Batman!

Worth it though as I'm finally keeping full bars in my apartment instead of one bar...

I literally got one to two bars in my apartment with my 7 Plus. Got 3 or 4 with my 6s. I get full bars with my V30. I'm not sure why it's such a huge discrepancy but it's obvious for my carrier, location and data speeds that my V30 wins hands down. Once they deploy band 71 here in my area, I imagine I'll have even less dead zones when I travel outside the city. However, I haven't had my V30 long enough to go out to those areas to see if it'll work better even without band 71.

It's the Qualcomm modem vs the Intel. Qualcomm is better and more expensive than Intel but Apple wanted to save money with the modem in the ip7.

As long as Apple stays at war with Qualcomm, I'll be staying with Android devices. They can't think it's fair to cripple the Qualcomm modem to match an inferior Intel one. That's pretty much sabotage to undermine Qualcomm because Apple has a payment dispute. The customers are the ones paying the ultimate price here for this.

Why would a payment dispute have anything to do with this? They are already paying them for half the units why not all? I think it’s a supply constraint not many Android manufactures will need to overcome. Apple has to source components from multiple vendors to keep demand.

Didn't they stop payments all together? Add in that Qualcomm is seeking to stop certain iPhone devices from being sold in China. Do you really think the choice to use the Intel modems knowing that were not as capable as the Qualcomm, then crippling the Qualcomm to match is beneficial to the consumers?

Apple is just thinking about themselves. Complaining about Qualcomm royalty payments but still rapidly increasing the prices on their customers. Hypocrisy really.

They didn't have a problem using Qualcomm before this. They switched to using TSMC exclusively after the fiasco with Samsung chips. This is less about demand and more about where they can save a buck!

Considering the new iPhone has Qualcomm chip I think my reasoning is sound. We don’t know what’s going on with the companies but we do know that;
Apple has short supply of components at launch.
They contract multiple companies to meet demand
Apple still uses Qualcomm chips.

Anywho, Hope Apple takes LTE chips design in house and does some serious engineering like they did with W1 and the A-Series. We can use more effiency in mobile components.

I had an Intel modem iPhone 7 Plus.
It did fine.

Same intel version being sold by at&t and T-Mobile.

I'm assuming that not every country has the same strength of frequency for all their bands nor do they use all the same bands at all. I can only say what I've seen and experienced personally. To get the speed you had shown in your photo, I had to get myself an Android device.

I think one problem that irks some people is when Apple users assume they invented everything. Or they will say it's a gimmick until it is actually featured on an iPhone.

Everybody copies each other. But for anyone praising Steve Wozniak or praising Steve Jobs to be greater than Thomas Edison, there are some who never get the credit like Alan Turing and Douglas Engelbart.

Even Jony Ive felt offended when Steve Jobs gets praised for his ideas. What did Richard say in Silicon Valley in the first ever episode? Jobs was a poseur? Didn't write code.

Give credit where credit is due . I do like that Apple is copying gesture controls from webOS. Less time for ACCEPTANCE LAG. Faster adopters because iPhone is so popular. Ideas from Palm can live on.

In the UK that 60mbps is pretty darn good!! I can get from 30 to 50mbps on Tesco. I think you literally have to be in the middle of London to get anything above 60 ish and that’s if anyone offers it?
We certainly don’t have the luxury of 150mbps plus on cellular as a normality that’s for sure...

But then the majority of people are more then happy with their speeds for what they use it for, I think?

If they are happy that's good. I wasn't because not only were the speeds abysmal but they were very inconsistent. I might not even be able to get anything to load at all. Then the calls, I rarely talk on the phone but when my calls are all cutting out? That was just too much for me to take.

If you can’t get the speeds your paying for I’d be unhappy, also I would be very annoyed with calls dropping!
