He told me it's been far too long for this. I have read about swelling due to damage done to the organs and possible adhesions. I'm going to see my primary care doctor to get another opinion.
I hope it subsides without undue complications.

Ya cooking for my wife is fun. I got a instant pot and now I can just throw stuff together for her.
Slow cooker? I love ours. I make the best roast with it. :)

it has gotten better with super careful eating. but I don't know if the food problems will solve themselves since they have been going on for so many years. I accidentally stumbled on what my esophagus is doing its called esophageal hypersensitivity. man it is like my roadmap and I have to be very careful what I eat not to irritate it. liquids are the worst anything with much of any flavor will irritate it. so pretty much water or almost milk only once a week a carbonated hiball energy drink because it has no acid in it. I can eat a big tub of popcorn at the movies and a couple york peppermint patties but thats the extent of the sugar I can have without a lot of heartburn and other problems. the rest of the week it is pretty much protein only with maybe veggies once or twice a week. but my strength has come back and i can work all day without getting tired. but my steam runs out shortly after.

I have learned to accept it and it does not bother me much anymore. I don't have a problem when my wife eats all the things I can't it bothers her more then me. I would be fine if I can get more veggies into my diet.

While visiting our nephew, I was sitting in a lawn chair, the edge of the seat seemed to put pressure on the back of my legs near the knee. And when I got up, I could hardly move because my right leg ached in the vicinity of my knee, but I did not think it was my knee. It was a sharp intense feeling that almost left like my leg could give way, but it did not, I took some Advil, but this condition last for several hours later, went to bed with it like this, but this morning the ache is gone and my leg is back to feeling normal. I did some research and think I pinched the nerve in my right leg. 🤔

I recently was diagnosed with GERD, which is getting worse. I can’t eat any meal without having heartburn and pain in my abdomen. I also have asthma, allergies, and PTSD.

I'm sorry to hear this. Have they recommended lifestyle changes, over-the-counter meds, or prescription meds? There are a number of approaches to treatment, and I hope they can help you.

My primary care provider have a busy schedule so I’m waiting to see her. In the meantime, I’m on meds that have helped but I’m nauseous and vomit at least once a week. It’s annoying but I have changed a lot of things in my diet. I was a avid coffee drinker and switched to Matcha powder which give me more energy than coffee did. I’ve tried OTC meds and none of them work.

So my lasat post on this thread was back in 2016, whoo boy have things changed

Admitted to hospital with pleurisy and pneumonia on the verge of multi-organ failure, 2 years later my lungs still haven't healed properly - which meant working in healthcare during COVID has been really scary but thank goodness haven't had it and fully vaccinated so phew.

My migraines have become more frequent and severe, had a run of 'new treatments' (at least for me) Beta blockers - didn't help, made my breathing worse. Anti-convulsant meds - no help, gave me kidney problems, came off them rapidly, tried amitryptiline - no help, still taking low dose. FINALLY was referred to a migraine specialist who diagnosded me with .... Chronic Migraine!!! then sent me to his BOTOX clinic, on my second set of 31 injections and to date, there is some improvement - not massive but some improvement, so I'll take it!

Then off for sleep assessment for my supersonic snoring, yep severe OSA so on CPAP treatment now sleeping like a baby and no snores yay!

Just need to get some weight off!!! lol!

Is there reason to think that getting more oxygen and rest during sleep might make migraines less frequent?

Mrs AFB has an allergic reaction to most food. She basically eats plain white rice, chicken breast and 2-3 vegetables for most meals. No flavourings of any kind. Her reaction to anything else can vary from swelling up in the face etc. to instinct rejection of the food (not usually vomiting though). IBS, feeling like road kill, nausea are all daily occurrences.

Its been like that for years. So we just eat very plain boring food and never eat out together. I haven't eaten out with her in maybe 10 years. Because she never knows what reaction she will get, if we have to go out somewhere she won't eat or drink before hand.

Are you nauseous from your meds? Are you taking omeperazol? You probably know this but coffee is acidic hence bad for acid reflux. I used to drink 32oz of coffee a day, quit coffee for a while but back to one cup per day. It sounds like what I have is less severe than you, with omeprazole, a 40mg time release capsule daily, my symptoms went away.

I’m using Zofran for the nausea. I was drinking a venti caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks almost every day. On days I didn’t drink Starbucks, I was at Dunkin’ Donuts. I also like pasta with Tomato paste. For the last week, it hasn’t been bad. I haven’t vomited or been too nauseous. The meds are working and I have to see a gastroenterologist in September, to see what the next course of action is.

Thumbs up on seeing the doc. Are you taking something for the gerd/acid reflux? Or by cutting back on caffeine the gerd went away, but you have bouts of nausea? As @Apple fanboy said, there definitely could be food allergies involved. I also of had some nausea due to intermittent bouts of vertigo, but you’ll notice that when reorienting your head like sitting up, turning, or rolling over.

I was prescribed Pantoprazole that I take 30 -60 minutes before each meal and Sucralfate twice a day before bed. I have cut significantly back on the caffeine. I still drink one cup a week. I also didn’t realize that me taking Ibuprofen 800mg for every migraine (that I suffer from twice a week) was also causing it. I now only take Tylenol if needed.

Reading through this thread is a real eye opener. Suddenly my problems seem mild compared to the stories I have read.
I used to have heartburn alot, and I blamed it on my wife's cooking because she loved tomato based dishes. It wasn't until I went on a fat free diet that my heartburn disappeared.

Now at nearly 77, suffer from high blood pressure, and excessive weight. My Apple watch and iPhone have been tracking my heart rates and they have become higher. Going back to my cardiologist on Tuesday.

My heart goes out to all of you that have far more serious problems than I do.

The best line in this thread: "Every day you wake up on this sound of the ground is a gift. Start every day with a smile and stay positive" Thanks Alliflowers, I will take that to heart.

I recognize so many names from the Digital Photography threads over the 6 years this thread, glad you are all with us.

Thanks to "Huntn" for moderating and starting this thread.

They say humor is the best medicine, I am reminded of Rodney Dangerfield when he went to the doctors and got a bad diagnosis, he said he wanted a second opinion, so the doc said: "Well you are ugly too"

Be careful, ibuprofen in quantity can hurt your liver. The Omperazole 40mg I take in the morning for gerd is a time release capsule that works all day to reduce stomach acid. It’s working well for me.

My doctor never gave me a chance to try Omperazole. I had blood work done to make sure my liver is okay and it is. I stopped taking ibuprofen for right now.

I like your phrase.

Could be scar tissue (adhesions are one form). I had a small bowel obstruction from scar tissue starting three days ago. It was pretty painful and my usual solution is to lie on my left side curled up and then not eat anything for one to three days. I haven't eaten for about 30 hours and feel a lot better though there is still periodic pressure.

I spoke to my surgeon in June about it and she can go in and clean up the scar tissue and change the connection from a staple to splicing. It would be 3-4 days in the hospital and 4-6 weeks of recovery though. Obviously some risk as well but this surgery is fairly standard stuff. I really don't want to go for surgery in this time of quasi-pandemic though.

For me, the scar tissue showed up about six months after surgery which I've heard is normal.

My surgery was a long horizontal scar below the abdomen and four or five holes for laparoscopic assistance.

It's never too late to start a diet and exercise program.

My mother lifted weights in her 80s but had to stop after other problems. She's hoping to make it to 100 this year.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. I hate it. I pretty much never fall unless it's my heart condition. In front of an ULTA, I blacked right out.
