Chronic tinnitus, carpal tunnel, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. Ahh, the joys of aging!
Laughter is the best medicine. As long as you keep your sense of humor, you'll make it.
After all my chemo and surgery, I finally broke down on the way to a radiation appointment one day. Getting the walker out of the car was the straw that broke the camel's back. My radiation oncologist put me on Celexa, and it has helped incredibly. Staying positive can be a chore, but a little help works wonders.
Oh, I don't want to discourage anyone from getting the flu shot, it is very rare. My surgeon says he only sees a couple of cases a year that react as aggressively as I did.
I guess my only caution is if it seems like they are prepping the shot area really high on your shoulder vs years past, speak up and ask about it.
I will say the nurse who did mine has no idea she injured me which is unfortunate. The only indication that something was wrong during the injection was I felt very little pain vs years past, and there was quite a bit of blood that she had to wipe off. I had no way of contacting them after the clinic, although I did try, as they were a third party company that my work hired to come in and do the clinic. So it's possible that this could be happening to folks and it doesn't get back to the original healthcare worker at all. I do know one other person who ended up with a shoulder injury after our work clinic, but he never reported it anywhere and hasn't gotten any treatment yet.

God lord bud!
Me, pretty much just the Carpal Tunnel.....both hands. I have already had the surgery on my left hand. The right one has not reached that point yet.
Just one hand for me, the right. Luckily I'm a southpaw. No need for surgery atm. Its the tinnitus that drives me bats.
Sorry to hear that. I'm on Cymbalta, but I need to discuss with my doctor with either going up in strength or trying something else. Good Luck..... My luck is holding. Now they think it's fibromyalgia.

Are your symptoms bad? =(
From what I've learned from a friend with tinnitus, I don't think there's any treatment except in extreme cases, if tinnitus was caused by a lifetime of noise that damaged your auditory system. When that's the case, you don't want to exacerbate the condition, so consider wearing ear plugs if you're going to a noisy club, a rock concert, fireworks, etc. It's good news that you seem to have no accompanying hearing loss. If you did, there are ways to address that.Does anyone reading have Tinnitus? I think it's getting worse and it's starting to bug me and I'm wondering if there is any way to correct it, make the ringing stop, not improve my hearing, which oddly, I feel like I can hear everything just fine.
I went to a ENT specialist some time back and he basically said, you have it, you don't have a tumor, but he did not offer any solutions. But I admit at that time I was not asking for any fix. Now I'm wondering if there is one?
Thanks!

Sometimes tinnitus is temporary, such as when it's a side effect of medicine. And instead of noise, the cause could be sinus or middle ear problems, which doctors can treat. I suggest visiting the ENT doctor again to report when it started, what it's like now, and ask what can be done.

It's got to be a career exposed to louder than normal noises, but it's louder now and quite noticeable.
Thanks, I'll check it out. What would be cool if there was technology that cancels out the noise, like those headsets people wear on airplanes (in the back). I'd be hesitant to wear something that adds more noise. Obviously I should talk to a specialist about this.
Obviously I need to review those posts, sorry.Just looked at them. Was the purpose of the hearing aids to cancel out the noise or cover it up? Thanks!

I do, I just ignore it, it gets easier after a while
I've been doing that for about a year now, but it's more noticible now. Most likely recently aggravated by sitting next to the stage during a Flamenco Dance presentation without any ear plugs.

I don't have them nearby (can't recall the make or model) …
