The iPhone 5c was gorgeous.

iPhone4 because of the glass. However the iPhone 7 was unique in weight and that stealth Black color

You realise just how ugly the 6/6S were when you look back at these.

The 7 and 8 improved that design slightly but still ugly IMO and it lead to the same curved frame seen on the X, XS, XR and 11 models. The 7 in jet black is the only model from the last 6 years to actually be stand out because it hid so many ugly elements, before the 7 I had the gold 6S and the white bands would turn blue from your jeans it was just such a bad design.

It'll be interesting to see if the rest of the industry follows Apples designs again and go for sharp flat edges like they followed the curved frames.

As I said before, the 12 will be a mix of the 4 and 5 the best designs ever. It'll have the glass back and stainless steel of the 4 but it'll have the edge to edge frame of the 5 as seen in most renders.

Fitting that we return to this industrial design language on the iPhone 4 10th anniversary.

I’m not really sure what one is my fave, but if I had to pick it would probably be a 4/4s.

1. 12 Pro (if the leaked CADs are true)
2. 4 (black)
3. 11 Pro Max (silver)
4. 7 Plus (jet black)
5. 5 (black and slate)

My new top 5

  1. iPhone 12 Pro - Silver
  2. iPhone 5 - Black Slate
  3. iPhone 7 - Jet Black
  4. iPhone 4/4S - Black/White
  5. iPhone 3G/3GS - White/Black

iPhone 3G. My first iPhone. Was a pleasure to use caseless with that grippy hard plastic. Can't say the same about any iPhone since.

Used to be the iPhone 5s space grey, with those chamfered edges.
It’s slowly becoming the 12 pro graphite now. Love how it feels and similar to the 5s enjoy how the stainless steel edge peeks through with a case on. Definitely a modern spiritual successor to that design IMO

iPhone 3G/GS, love the ergonomic shape, better to hold than 4 and 5 and no sharp edges on my pockets 🤦‍♂️

I’ve watched every iPhone event.

the iPhone 4 design is pretty much the only time I have ever felt a real ’wow’ moment when he unveiled the design, even though we had already seen it.

I have to go with the 5s. It was so light and well built. And I loved the look of the TouchID home button on the front of that phone.

I’m gonna go with the 12 pro Max. Big screen. Flat sides. All screen. Only thing I wish was different...matte sides and no camera bump.

The iPhone 8 is my pick.

The 4 was an iconic shift from plastic chassis into a classy and premium feeling glass and metal chassis. Antennagate aside the device was undeniably premium to look at and to interact with. I remember how impressed I was when taking it out of the box and placing it next to my 3GS on the table.

The 5/5s kept the design and increased the size a little, introducing TouchID for the first time.

Then came the 6, this increased the size even more and added what was at the time GIANT with the 6 Plus. The feel in the hand with the rounded edges was really well received by myself and using touch ID made those round edges super appreciated as you grasp your fingers towards them as you reach for the sensor.

The 6s did not change the design.

The 7 changed the design slightly and there was an elusive "Jet Black" colour which was a scratch and fingerprint magnet but by the gods it looked sleek! Matte Black also was a great look, but I found the stripes running through the metal on the others to be a bit of an eyesore.

Then came the 8, it did for the 6 design what the 4 did for the 3GS, it gave it that premium flair and elevated the now 3 year old design to a new level of class with a beautiful glass rear. The camera bump was surrounded not by a soft metal slope but a much more stand out ring on the outside of the lens to contrast with the glass phone.

The iPhone 8 looks premium on both sides, got rid of the (imo) tacky white fronts and brought wireless charging and the A11 to a classic form factor. I am still using it today, it is still extremely fast and while everyone with FaceID is fumbling around with PIN codes to unlock their phones while wearing face masks I am still enjoying TouchID.

1. 5/5s/SE (1st Gen)
2. 12 Mini (One specific reason it’s not #1, glass back)
3. 4/4s
