original 1300 current 13292 is that really good?

Yeah it's fine. For the 17" it should be around 13000 mAH, but for some reason coconut battery reports the original as 1300(missing a 0 there). It's just an error, ignore it.

One of my 17 inch-ers reports 13269, however my newer one reports 12890 (hasn't been calibrated yet though).

Without calibration and only one use without power adapter yet.
Three days old, to replace a stolen MBP.

13" MBP

Original: 5450
Current: 5466

5 Weeks old
4 Load cycles

I did one "calibration" per Apple's recommendation when i first used it.

5400 +- 50

Don't know how you guys are getting 3-4 hours use with this battery. If you watch HD youtube videos, you're stressing the CPUa lot, it uses up 1 entire core. I like to watch HD flash videos and boy does that drain the battery life, even regular youtube videos drains it a lot. Then I'm downloading files in the background. And when the CPU heats up the fans kick in, thus draining the battery life even more. Really if you want to achieve 5+ hours, you really need to be doing nothing, browsing with one webpage, disable flash and have the screen brightness on the lowest setting.

5450 mAH is 5450 mAH and Apple can't change the laws of physics, there's no clever mechanics to power drain. The less you use the more you have, the more you use the less you have. When I use the computer I multitask a few things, but even this mild usage (downloading and watching youtube videos) will put a serious dent in the amount of time you get. They really need to get rid of the Superdrive and make that space all battery, then you seriously could get 6+ hours using the macbook properly. Not like now, watching the battery meter, "oh am I using it too much, I'll stop my user experience for you battery because apple says up to 7 hours". Does anyone else realise what a crock of doodoo this is. How can the 13" battery be equivalent to the 15"? 13" has 58WHr battery ~ 5450 mAH =/= 15" 73WHr battery ~ 6850mAH so either Apple is shipping out different laptops to reviewers or someone is telling fibs.

13" MBP, typical use is streaming Hulu or Netflix, surfing, email etc.. last nite I watched 2h 40m from Hulu, then surfed around reading forums and watching a few Youtube video's for 2h and change, battery showed 1:13 after that. I don't have 10+ applications open at once, don't see the need, since I'm working on one at a time, but usually when surfing have itunes running. When I'm watching Hulu, nothing but mail is open in the background. I've had this now for about a week and easily see 4 hours+ video playback/surfing/iTunes/email type usage.

Today I'm going on my 3rd hour of email's, browsing while listening to iTunes and batter shows now 2:25 to go. I have wifi on, BT off, screen brightness at 60%. Run the math all you want, fact is I'm getting well over 4 hours a session and not making any sacrifices to what I want to do with it.

On the math topic.. here is from my system profile

Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 2167
Fully charged: No
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 5450
Health Information:
Cycle count: 4
Condition: Good
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): -1092
Voltage (mV): 11169

Clearly it's pulling -1092 Ma, take the total... 5450 divided by usage 1092 = 4.99 hours, that's how the 13" MBP is getting 4+ hours easy.

15"

Is there some type of app that will not let you charge past a certain amount? Then ideally I could leave my mbp plugged in while minimizing harm to the battery.. Is this possible?

My 15" (above) got worse after this: slow discharge (minimum power consumption), wait 5 hours, recharge while off, wait 2 hours after charged before turning on. Hmm.

2.26 13" mbp

current charge 5565

max charge 5581

current capacity 5581

original capacity 5450

WTF?!!?!

Mine's 5359 full capacity for 13" 2.53.... I'm a little ticked now seeing what you guys are getting with your 13".

EDIT: installed CoconutBattery....

Original 5450
Current 5359

I've only been using this for a few days, how could it have degraded so much already? The stats say the machine is actually 7 weeks old....

bought my system about 3 weeks ago, I just did that battery test, and I think I did it wrong, I let the battery die out until it went into sleep mode, the problem is the system was completely shut down and I just started charging. Now my battery at fully charge only says 96%, what the hell it that about.

Some of you say keep it in that dead sleep state for 3 hours before charging, thats what I forgot to do, now what should I do? Should I let it die again and try this all over again?

bought my 13 inch mbp 4 days ago and before I did the calibration my battery capacity was at 100%, and now it is at 99% is that because i did the calibration wrong or is this pretty normal? My battery life is great.

down to 97% now...

I think I need to take mine back. I have the 15" and its a week old now. On the second day though it dropped to 6300/6500 and now its 6288. I'mm gonna do a full charge and drain and see what happens then. Otherwise I want to take it back for a battery replacement (I'd rather them not replace the whole laptop). I'm at 96% now after a week...

ok in another week im down another 200mAH. I'm now at 6100/6500 or 93%. This is nuts. My two week exchange period is expired this weekend, but I am not even in town to take it in. Should I call, or go in next week and explain. I'd like them to just replace the battery, not the whole laptop. Unless there is a chance something is wrong with the charging circuit. What do you guys think? I have tried a full drain and charge twice, waiting the 5 hours like I'm supposed to.

13" MBP / 2.26GHz default config.

98% health after 7 cycles (5386 mAh)

I haven't done a battery calibration yet but I should probably do it soon!

The mah's are right though and correspond to my system profiler and istat. ONLY 93% and before anyone asks, I've calibrated my battery. MBP 13

Update on my 13" MBP 2.53GHz

43 Loadcycles, 97% health 5335mAh, 2 months old (17th June)

Gone from 5540 on arrival (uncalibrated), to 5400 after calibration, to 5432 at the beginning of July and now to 5335 near the end of August

Call me not entirely convinced its going to achieve the
MacBook Pro can go through up to 1000 recharges before it reaches 80 percent of its original capacity

Presuming its linear (which it likely isn't, but we have no evidence any which way at the moment). After 1000 cycles it looks like I would be down to max of 50% charge.
