Pretty sure I speak for 50% of MacRumors with this one:

It doesn't get any better with Apple's portables than a mouth-watering PowerBook 12". :)

Although I marvel at how limited the G3 Wallstreet Powerbook is when compared to my new MacBook Unibody today, when I bought my Wallstreet (actually the Mainstreet entry level model) I considered it the best computer on the market... the fact that it still runs well confirms that... stylistically it still impresses me...

While the original Apple II deserves massive respect, this is THE one:

Oh yeah! 1981, Grade 4. My grade school got these in and we marvelled at just how lovely the color screen was!!

It was so new that the teachers where teaching us about the system reading out of the book.

Pops had a friend working at the airport that he told we got Apple PC's and loaned a disc to me. The head computer class teacher argued with me for almost 5mins telling me "there is no such thing as a double-sided floppy disk". He relinquished teaching that day to gaming; I was in control of the class and showed him how double-sided floppy can be done (for an 8yr old that is prime). And the kids LOVED "Karateka"!! An arcade quality game on a PC!! Think about this ... 1981 Arcades where making hand over fist and I had a game on the Apple II that matched in quality, a joystick connected, and more than 4sounds at a time. I also remembered NOT being bullied that year just cause of that disk.

My fave has to be the PowerBook G4 / Original MacBook Pro.

I didn't like the 12" PowerBook though.

I have a soft spot for tangerine because it was the one I used in school. I thought it was the most beautiful computer I'd ever seen :)

Tried to persuade my bfriend to buy me one for my birthday, but he refused :(

I have one in my backpack next to my ibook 466Mhz.I use it when my 466 is maxed out.I have 10.4.11 Tiger on it.I have no idea how it's running it though.I put it in as a joke and it booted.lolIt's got 288MB ram,10GB HD,airport, the works.:D

Here's my favorite macs of all time.I own all but the Lime.Which should be added this year.only my graphite 466,and my Tangerine 300 are in one piece and work at the moment though.

Allot of people asked if it could be a poll at the start of the thread, so I thought I would take some time to total up the votes for you guys.

1st Place - iMac G4 (Lamp) *32 votes*
2nd place - Aluminium Unibody MacBook Pro *20 votes*
3rd place - PowerMac G4 Cube *15 votes*

Those are the current podiums. Hope this was useful, if not I still had fun making it :p I'm Still backing the PowerBook G4 15"/17" :apple:

PartyBoy - I have the same iMac (early 2006), my first mac. LoveLOVELOVE it!!! Never had any problem with it...use it daily.
I decided to keep it running Tiger with all the iLife 06 stuff. Is that crazy? I don't think I'll ever sell it. I also have an early 2008 macBook running Leopard (soon Snow Leopard.) I just couldn't bring myself to upgrade the iMac to Leopard - Tiger was so great to learn on.
I wonder if anyone else out there has an mac they COULD update the OS on, but still uses what it shipped with?
I am going to run this mac until it conks out!

A guy at work had the Blueberry model; I used it a bit. It was my first actual real experience using Macintosh and I loved it. I still like those clamshell notebooks. :)

The best Mac for me is a 17" MacBook Pro. Not only because I have one but because they really are the best of both worlds for me. It handles all my main work - which replaces a desktop model due to it's screen size and specs - but then I can pack it up and do a demo for a client if I need to as well.

Two stones with one bird.

This was the best laptop Apple ever made. Up until the 13" MBP with SD Card slot. I am proud to say I have owned many Apple laptops, and the tibook design was stellar, but nothing compares to the new 13" MBP. It's the greatest ever! : )
