I think my favorite was the Mac SE. I used that all the way through high school and part of college…in the 1990's! What a solid little machine.

For me its really hard to say. Maybe its because it took me SOO long to finally own a Mac - personal hardships and excuses asside.

Powerbook_g3_pismo.jpg

Pismo (Powerbook G3) was awesome and featured in so many movies you couldn't ignore it if you tried. Come to think of it, I cannot think of more than 1 PC laptop that came close to its performance.

A friend of mine teased me with the PowerMac G4 733Mhz QuickSilver for 3 mths on loan. Man Cheetah & Puma (I upgraded it) where horrible yet so inviting that it was just beautiful. Free classes to learn the basics at CPUsed on Dupont helped. I was a great machine - best with Dual 1Ghz G4; and gets a worthy mention. This was what the G4 should've launched with.

But its THIS machine that just did it for me. Like the first girl at high school that I had a crush, no, obsession with. I walked to the nearest Apple retailer (both Apple & Palm/Psion retailer), and this machine had a lineup for people just to touch it, see it in action. THIS machine made OS X a real dream to enjoy, crushing the long time favorite the Pismo; it's only achilles heel to massive appeal was the price, and case pealing. I vowed I would own one, and I finally bought one last month. I'm happy with it, considering its age.

Next up will be a MB 13" Unibody and hopefuly a Mac Pro 8Core late 2008; I got 2 sweet 17" & 20" Dell LCD's just waiting for them.

Unibody Macbook Pro 15" is my favorite, as that is what I now own. I also find this design to be the best of anything I have seen from Apple. Beats the hell out of all of the iBooks, Powerbooks, Non-Uni MBPs and Macbooks (Had a Blackbook, hated the sharp seam at where the top case met the bottom case).

Also, the Power Mac G5/Mac Pro design is simply beautiful. I was going to get a Mac Pro instead of the 15" MBP, but I need my computer to be portable and speedy. :)

Now on the unibodies, there's not a sharp seam, just a super-sharp edge.

I don't find the edge of the unibodies to be very sharp at all. Not nearly as sharp as the plastic seam. That thing hurt like hell when I first got my Macbook. I had to put electrical tape over the edges at first until I got used to it. My wrists were always raw. The edge on the unibodies is more refined, smoothed and what not.

I love this machine, I have it sat in its box in the corner of the room, can't bring myself to sell it..... not been used in over a year.

The LC in particular was just so stylish for the time. Nothing else looked anywhere near that good. With the iMac DV the appeal is the refinement of the original fruity iMacs. Better screen resolution, no fan, no drive tray, easy to reach ports. Beautiful, especially the graphite one.

However, for the utter practicality and functionality the PB12 wins hands down. I bought one of the first gen ones and everybody was blown over by it even before I mentioned the built-in Bluetooth, 802.11g (rarity at the time), and the DVD burner. Mine is still in regular use, although I gave it to a friend last year so it's not really mine now. My current MBP 15" just doesn't inspire the same love.

I love the current Mac Pro; every time I open it up to clean, I marvel at its magnificence.

iMac G4 (Lamp), the most practical monitor arm all-time.
it's a shame they discontinued the design.
